Re: "Article protection" is a joke

The difference between "anyone" and "anyone with an account and 10 edits" isn't major.

Re: He gone

I think Bbb23 just won't edit and will become an inactive account. Inactive accounts lose their admin privileges. ... I would expect that he also has a few dozen sock accounts lined up and ready to go to RFA, in case they do desysop him. .... There's very little "if" to the question of desysop'ing ...

Re: He gone

I have a technical question. Reading Bbb23, 6.Jun.2025, @ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrator_recall/Bbb23 : If the required 25 signatures is reached, I do not intend to stand for re-election. If I understand the process, my bit will be removed sometime after that. I will then reti...

Re: One of my old articles from years ago is AfD and some poor soul is Suspected as Sockpuppeting

Yup, it's going to survive alright.
And who the hell cares. It's just some boring rudimentary info about some "random" guy.

Though! It is "funny" how some random human gets to be anointed sock-puppet.

Should I check enwiki or the local language wiki?
Given that I'm not seeing any difference on en.wiki and da.wiki, then I strongly suspect that you only need to check either - so en.wiki will likely suffice just fine.

Re: Wikipedia begging for money

I have one. Any idea of what countries to check? Where I live, I get the banner. Well, I'm in Denmark, so consider that one already checked with great confidence. Otherwise, perhaps check one random country in the EU, and one in Europe not part of the EU. Further, then one or two countries per cont...

Re: Wikipedia begging for money

I'm not seeing any Give us money banner on wikipedia (neither on en.wikipedia.org nor on da.wikipedia.org)
The money-run could be IP-dependant.
Anyone here using a geo-locatable proxy or VPN for accessing WWW, so to further investigation?

Re: "When Wikipedia has the Flag Wrong"

You saw those 20 minutes worth of videos in your"YouTube recommendations", but you "Haven't watched yet".
Would you consider acquainting yourself with the concept of a notepad?

AI - Fad of the future (a Danger?)

So I (yesterday) read a blog post (23.May.2023) by Larry Sanger: A dialogue with a chatbot Never fucking mind that it's Larry Sanger: It's very interesting to listen/read/observe an AI. (though I'm rather discontent that the AI / Chatbot is allowed to remain "nameless". WTF?!? Real people/humans sho...
