Re: Disputing my block at Justapedia

I do agree with you it should be led by a non-partisan though, and that was a reasonable suggestion. Regardless, even though they are very partisan in talk pages, they allow differing views and angles maybe contrary to their own on politics, unlike Infogalactic/Metapedia etc. Dunno how much long th...

At least the jackasses didn’t block him/her again but the user left anyway. Well done, jackasses.
I suspect there's more to the story in this case. I've never seen admins accept an appeal without the appellant's grovelling admission of guilt.

Re: He gone

One of many idiotic blocks mentioned in the Wiki threads. Admins probably abuse the block tool far more often than they misuse it. At any rate, the real idiocy comes afterward: "You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because it appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia." I am ...

Re: The biggest problems with Wikipedia Policies?

Arguably WP:DUCK could be considered as a problem too because sometimes it's possible to imitate other people's stylometry in order to cause deanonymization attempts against them to falter. It's possible that there are hundreds, even thousands of cases where people have been wrongfully blocked or b...

Re: Experiences with RationalWiki and MetaPedia?

I think the regulars on there consider themselves centrists. Even people marginally left to them, like social democrats, get run off the wiki. One of the biggest fights on the wiki involved someone getting ostrasized, and that person started "socdem wiki". That doesn't mean they don't like to postu...

Re: Pointing at white people and screaming "RACIST!"

The zen of python ( pep 20 ) asserts Explicit is better than implicit - a self-evident principle that I believe applies to any sort of communication.* So to make the above point explicit, I believe the word "racism" represents a (presumably deliberate) conflation of two distinct concepts - "thought ...

Re: Pointing at white people and screaming "RACIST!"

As with most political neologisms, one loses very little by removing the word "racist" from their vocabulary entirely. If anyone can think of a sentence that includes the word "racist" and cannot be phrased just as clearly and precisely (if not more) without using the word, please do share it. The m...

Should have started this thread years ago. Today's example: This is how Lucy Guo was treated in the San Francisco Chronicle today. "The youngest female billionaire in tech history" or something. https://www.sfchronicle.com/entertainment/article/lucy-guo-youngest-female-billionaire-20290410.php And ...

Re: Experiences with RationalWiki and MetaPedia?

I never paid much attention to any of them, though I did briefly check out rationalwiki. Despite their pompous name it seems quite easy to cop a block/ban for 'rational' argumentation - hardly very different from Wikipedia. I have to wonder why anyone would bother making such a website in the first ...
