This is something I discovered in 2011: the English Wikipedia's coverage of African geography, history, people etc. is miserable. It has been thus since Wikipedia began and it continues to lag behind today. I seriously doubt it will ever catch up to the insane amount of detail they have about military aircraft, Polish townships or Japanese anime.
Perhaps, first the African editors should decolonize Wikipedia of its legions of insecure ADHD white nerds from the US, the UK and Australia. Good luck!
