This is easily believable. Not only is it SOP on Twitter; I would NOT be surprised to be told that it was the doing of a Wikipedia insider.
You want "free speech"? Don't go on Twitter. It's the most broken "discussion forum" I've ever seen.

I suspect it’s me. A good dozen of my tweets have been “restricted.” I’m not sure if this is some coward reporting me repeatedly, or Twitter internally throttling my account semi-automatically, or manual internal edits, or what...
