Yes, you can "edit reality" on WP. And let's not forget the edit-a-thons

I found this tidbit interesting:

"About 97% of Tor traffic has to do with people going to Facebook, and Wikipedia, and BBC, and ordinary websites on the internet, and they want to go there more safely," Dingledine says.

That's a great catch. Do you think these are Tor users in China and Turkey who are surfing to Wikipedia?

And yet Tor IPs are banned on Wikipedia. I remember Armedblowfish and her unsuccessful attempt to keep using Tor.

I haven't seen anything about Armedblowfish before. I'd like to read it later. Thanks!

Armedblowfish was just an average Wiki-fanmutant involved in their stupid attempt to use Wikipedia to defame Daniel Brandt, in the "Anoymous Wikipedian" nonsense, and in the attacks on Jennifer "Disillusioned Lackey" Powell. I haven't written AB's story up because Armedblowfish was a complete nobody otherwise.
Out of all the terrible things in the world, to me a bit of lying doesn't seem to matter. Besides, I can understand the need for protection given how often Essjay has been threatened. — Armed Blowfish (talk|mail) 20:40, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
BTW: AB's userpage refers to this
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Armedblowfish~enwiki
which refers to this
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Nwwaew
a patroller who left Wikipedia in 2009 anyway. Anyone care to try and explain this?

As for TOR.....I notice that TorNodeBot, which was programmed to search for and block all Tor exit nodes on Wikipedia, became inactive in 2014. Shirik the author is now an "inactive administrator" who does just enough to avoid losing his sysop bit. Guess no one's blocking Tor nodes anymore. They were always two-faced about it.

Look at this for some historic stupidity:

I'd be really surprised if the Wikipedians aren't still blocking Tor. Interesting that the no longer have that original tool to use though.

just by the by, something from my EFF notes, from a 2015 communication:
"As I keep telling you, the WMF is hopelessly stuck in an archaic 1990s 1337-d00d universe. If they were SERIOUS about privacy they would use a TOR chatroom instead; but that is unlikely because they're stuck in their ways, and many of them hate TOR because it's been used to fuck with them over the years. Thus we have TORNodeBot, a admin bot that does nothing but block known TOR nodes on Wikipedia. It was written by an admin named Shirik (T-C-F-R-B), aka Matthew Del Buono, a guy with a very creepy background. Apparently he writes code to control military drones."
