The material removed by Jimbo was re-inserted by another editor, and then removed again by yet another editor on the basis of WP:DUE.
Surely you mean the WP "co"-founder ?

Just another ego-monument that the Wik-idiots failed to notice, this one being a very obscure musician and gear-whore:

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?ti ... on=history

Created in February 2015 by an SPA, massively expanded after that by "Billyjs".
Further expanded by another SPA called Cterry216. Who is?

Pathetic. He did not even attempt to hide his self-glorification. Talkpage is empty.

En-WP still contains thousands of "autobiographies" like this, and still does little or nothing.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd is a moderately semi-obscure R&B musician (IMO). Nominated for Grammy awards but never won. So far as I can tell, he's most famous for marrying Mel Gibson's daughter.

If he's got paid editing it's very good and careful paid editing. If these are his fans, he's got really obsessed (and kinda stupid!) fans. Either way it's not a well-organized or well-referenced article. He unquestionably has an aggressive PR operation--I keep getting unwanted spam emails and Facebook "updates" about the guy's upcoming gigs. Despite never having seen his shows and never having bought an album or even noticed him....."From 1995 on, Shepherd took seven singles into the Top 10, and holds the record for the longest-running album on the Billboard Blues Charts with Trouble Is...." refers to the Billboard blues chart, which today is a "specialty backwater" for "old people".

This was especially pathetic

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?ti ... =115753875
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?ti ... d=96424182

Someone could explain why MrBill3, who normally obsesses over pornstars, spent some time manicuring Kenny's article.

I'm sure he's a helluva guitar player, but meh.....

Now to send this to his PR people and see what happens.

Could be. And that reminds me: no one has "outed" El_C yet. If anyone here wants a "hobby" that would make a good time-waster.

Now for something to really make you go "hmm":

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amy_Krouse_Rosenthal

Created on 29 March 2011 by a student editing WP for course credit.

Put up for speedy deletion one minute later. By an idiot who only cared about railways.

Then two hours later, reliable Wikipedia fan/addict Brian "Bearian" Logan shows up and greatly expands it, obviously to "save" it from yet another nut-case deletionist.

Then further expanded two months later by an SPA who popped out of nowhere. Diced up further by another SPA in 2015.

(She's currently notorious for writing a weepy NY Times essay begging other women to marry her husband because she's dying of cancer. Stupid bloggers are getting much sad-traffic by talking about her impending doom. People still love to rubberneck at traffic accidents. Good luck finding out if she hired paid editors.)

The employer has just landed up to defend his workers and El_C has replied
Attaboy Soham321 stick it to the man. You've got them sucking balls with the FTC definition of unlawful deceits in the course of commerce and 230 won't save WMF on this one if they dont hammer down on a TOU complaint.

We do wonder what the Encyclopedia Britannica would say to the employer Vipul's defence ?

Almost entirely the work of one Robinhaddad.

Who?

https://www.alimillerrd.com/podcast/int ... nzo-coehn/
Ali welcomes Dr. Lorenzo Cohen director of the Integrative Medicine Program at MD Anderson Cancer Center and his colleague Robin Haddad, doctoral candidate in health promotion and behavior science to discuss the direction of cancer treatment and research advances in the area of bio-behavioral oncology.

We even know how much Cohen paid her:
https://salaries.texastribune.org/the-u ... d/1050196/

I ran across this after compiling some examples of that Enormous Wiki-Asshole David "MastCell" Gorski being inserted into articles as a "special expert" on anyone Gorski doesn't like. Cohen is studying traditional Chinese medical practices for possible cancer therapies, which sets off Gorski's Quack-Shrieky Bullhorn. I suspect Gorski might end up damaging science, rather than supporting it.

Man, we need a special thread about Gorski. What a noisy little creature.

Discussing small fry distracts from exposing the big fish. Does this forum intend to chronicle the edits of every conflicted wikipedia editor ?

That would obviously be impossible. And I would call Gorski a "big fish" because he's an administrator. Okay?

This thread is mostly for dropping examples of paid editing abuses, "seekret" COI editing, and related things. Because there's an endless supply of this crap on English Wikipedia, the articles tend to be copied to other language Wikipedias without comment; and no one's keeping track of any of this.
