Examples of bias on Wikipedia

Post by ylevental » Fri Oct 21, 2022 1:19 pm

I will start:

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?ti ... on=history

From September 3-10, 2020, the wife and son of the article's subject were removing content that criticized his viewpoints. Tony Attwood is an autism supremacist because that is his career and way to make money. Nobody was talking about COI, and nobody reverted the edits until I came back.

I am all for "sock-puppetry" on Wikipedia and/or anything that points out how foolish/destructive the platform is.

Without prejudice, From what I can tell most of the stuff you edited on Wikipedia relates to autism, experts on autism, acceptance of autism, controversial positions on autism etc.. etc..

My favorite in this large basket of edits, or interest, would be Johnathan Mitchell

Current Entry

More hilarious entry;

On his own blog Mitchell has this to say;
about seven years ago, I self-published a novel "The Mu Rhythm Bluff" on Amazon. I hoped I could use my autism as a gimmick to promote it. However, you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men. It basically went nowhere and it sold about 250 copies, though seven years later, I still sell some copies from time to time.
So what he is saying is that he has no real impact or reach; he is just twiddling his thumbs. That is my conclusion regarding Wikipedia editors, they are just twiddling their thumbs (with some thinking they are actually accomplishing something productive) There is of course, the pyramid-scheme aspect of Wikipedia

And of course; here is Mitchell describing how he twiddles (must see)

Which is sort of ironic because he "has some personal insights" to share and is quite insightful about himself.

Mitchell can be used as a foil in mainstream (social justice) articles therefore he lends himself to being used for click and interest generation. In terms of click generation, Jess Wade and Molly White (both probably being autistic) do a better job in terms of self validation. (The down side of Wikipedia will eventually catch up with Wade and White).

Hey man, if "Aspie" is bad now, then go all the way and call them "Ass Pies". You'll be in "good company".
