The article is a total farce with Wikipedia containing and/or "being all the garbage it can be." It's just a giant titillation engine for its participants and entertainment for the readership. The article shows how wimpey the whole platform is; a platform that does not have the ability or guts to cover something on "the front page" of any importance.

The articles for deletion process (AFD) is totally arbitrary and it results in the deletion of good information as well as tripe.

AS EB mentioned; an article can be nominated for deletion on the grounds that it does not exist even though it does.

Why?

When Wikipedia started it was necessary for Jimbo Wales to "puke" out lots of low quality for the platform as fast as possible.

AFD's are removing many early articles

Today's content is a different flavor of "puke" in that there is more puke within weak articles that go on and on and on. Articles need "support" from secondary sources (on the Internet) so they are created and then appended with anything that will stick. It is a "puke fest" of meangliss disorganized information within each article. There is no shortage of secondary sources speaking to all sorts of things that are not encyclopedic or even factual.

AFD cannot delete bad content that has "support" (mention somewhere else, by whoever, and for whatever reason)

What Wikipedia does not cover is 1) primary source information 2) information that is important in some way but lacks "support." Valuable pre-internet information lacks the "minimal support." Experts and thinkers are chased off of Wikipedia as fast as possible.

AFDs frequently delete good content.

My sock puppet, "Emilio Mole Socks," was able to use AFD maliciously to delete some really good, interesting and high quality articles.
"Emilio" failed miserably when it came to deleting abject tripe.

Many articles about obscure subjects that are not googleable rely on printed books (often out of print) for referencing. Deletionists really hate that, and occasionally they successfully AFD good articles based on "I can't google it". But that doesn't happen very often, IF the article has lots of references embedded in the text. The more legitimate it LOOKS, the longer it will survive. On Wikipedia, there is no "truth", there is only the carefully constructed illusion of truth, and the mass delusion of "reality".

Remember that old "verifiability not truth" crap? It basically originated with the now-deceased SlimVirgin. A chronic liar and manipulator. Even SHE had to back off when it was rewitten in 2012. She pushed an obvious systemic abuse as far as she could. Some older insiders continue to operate as if it was "official policy". They STILL believe it and they will continue to believe it.

The essay "Verifiability is not the truth" suggests that "verifiability" is just a starting point. In application on Wikipedia "verifiability is everything" in and of itself. (He said she said and it got published on a corporate website - that is all that is necessary).

"Book" references are an intractable way to stick content up Wikipedia's ass. Nobody can contend with them - you can make up whatever you want to and throw in a gazillion footnotes.

--Musk puts out a tweet "Trolling" Wikipedia and dopey Jimbo Wales" takes the bait
--There is enough support for an article talking about the Musk-Wales interchange
------A search for "Musk takes on Wikipedia" will yield at least three reliable and verifiable sources
-----Of course an article "Musk takes on Wikipedia' will never be allowed to gestate
--An encyclopedia is not the news (another failed axiom)
