Username is a bit of a concern. I think that a good administrator should take feedback into consideration and make changes if issues are identified, even if they are not required to do so. It seems to me that "girth" may not have sexual connotations in the UK but does elsewhere. Now that that has been identified, I think it would be responsible to step back, say "huh, didn't even consider that", and then change the name to something a bit more professional. This request will obviously pass, and the candidate will very likely be a fine admin, but I think this is something that the candidate should consider. This soon to be Administrator thinks his unease at changing a username he admires and thinks of as his actual name, like a fucking mental case, is equivalent to the unease felt by people, especially women, who would be expected to treat him with deference and respect. Something he can weigh up, and find in his own favour. An issue that, despite him being the only one who values his name for those personal reasons, needs to see "significant" opposition before he countenances changing it.
