Article 13 is a fundamental reworking of how copyright works on the Internet. Today, online services are not required to check everything that their users post to prevent copyright infringement, and rightsholders don't have to get a court order to remove something they view as a copyright infringement—they just have to send a "takedown notice" and the services have to remove the post or face legal jeopardy. Article 13 removes the protection for online services and relieves rightsholders of the need to check the Internet for infringement and send out notices. Instead, it says that online platforms have a duty to ensure that none of their users infringe copyright, period. Article 13 is the most controversial part of the Copyright Directive.

This is fundamental wrong and US-centricity about a European regulation. Europe doesn't have a system of "takedown notices" but a "pay or I sue you system". Copyright infringements can even be a crime, copyright fraude, you can end up in prison in Europe. And why should it be the obligation of the EU to tell the internet platforms how to prevent people to do things what are strict forbidden?

And in this way with fake news and manipulation the Free Source mouvement try to make a point. A point what they simple not have, because these copyright laws are even from long before they where born. I told it so many times, the jurisdiction of the American legal system stops at the American border. This is European regulation, and not American, and if you don't accept that are you just a illegal border blaster and don't you have to be surprised if your site is set on black in Europe and you end up with a huge fine. Or even worser, just in prison because we are talking about something what can be seen as criminal by a judge in Europe.

(I strongly advised stealing bicycles or even peeing in the streets of Amsterdam if you want to do something illegal in Europe. Because with that you end up with a fine or public service. Remember the example of the Swish person who said something wrong of the king of Thailand. Or the man who said something wrong about the dog of the king and stop playing the fool jimmy, because you know dammed well better.)
