If you were wondering how bigoted you're allowed to be on Wikipedia, then wonder no more.

Apparently this is acceptable content on a Wikipedia editor's usage page. One of those mythical compromise, allegedly.

I think it's about time we started compiling lists of Wikipedia editors with unacceptable views. What you choose to do win these lists, is up to you. If you have access to a Latin American style roving death squad, have at it. If your means are a little less limited, well, just do what you can.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia ... erosexual2

The following user's crimes can be broadly described as cowardice. Their specific standout crime, is also highlighted.

* Arkon (for "Policing someone's expression of self is just a dumb waste of time.")
* Colin M (for firstly believing that Arabic Wikipedia really might start deleting expressions of gay pride, and for thinking that even if they did, that somehow would be relevant to what English Wikipedia does about the out and proud gay bashers in their community)
* Crossroads (for straight up false equivalency)
* Czello (per Arkon)
* Dr. Swag Lord (for being unwilling to accept that yes, users who support the gay bashing Communist Party of Cuba, might actually also be gay bashers too, and if not, should be called out for being stupid enough to express support for a political party they clearly know nothing about)
* GoodDay (for proving every day, that you can be a straight up retard and still be a Wikipedia editor)
* MarshallKe (for believing straight pride is an ideology that wouldn't promote violence)

Their general cowardice is their inability to accept that the only reasonable explanation (barring a level of mental faculty that falls below the minimum required standard) for someone to have written the sentence "This user is heterosexual and proud of it" anywhere on Wikipedia, but especially in the place where you describe yourself to others, is to advertise the fact they hate all the gays.

And so if you are gay and a Wikipedia editor, then in the words of User:Bearcat, as endorsed by User:Drmies, you really should just "fuck all the way off". All the way.

Some of these people will straight up be closet gay bashers, perhaps even super repressed gay bastards themselves, while some are just trolls, or as they might prefer to be known, professional contrarians. But speaking as one (a contrarian, not a closet gay), I can testify, they're doing it wrong.

All would likely find a home on Wikipediocracy, if they aren't there or already, because stupid is as stupid does.

One of these users is actually, in their own words, gay as fuck. I suspect he won't be if his local chapter of Gay Pride finds out who he is. As always people, when the talkie talk proves ineffective, as it always seems to do on Wikipedia (by my count this is like the fifty billionth time that the community has tried verbal means of dissauding gay bashers from thinking they're welcome on Wikipedia, and the fifty billionth time an out and proud gay basher has come up with a creative way to express his views, and the community has straight up indulged them in a nice big pantomime of debating whether he and anyone who shares his views really is a great big gay basher, or is just terribly misunderstood), volence is the answer.

Just make sure yours is the righteous hand, as you swing that club.

Don't be just swinging that club just because you can, just because you like the feeling of hurting people, using your power over them as a salve for your own inadequacies. Don't be a Drmies. :ugeek:

As ever, where goes Wikipedia, so does Wikipediocracy.
Wikipedia Administrator Boing! said Zebedee @ Wikipediocracy wrote:It's always seemed to me that being proud of anything you had no control over is absurd, whatever it is.
Will this latent expression of homophobia go unmarked by the powers that be at Wikipediocracy? I'm talking to you, Jake or Zoloft.

Will they even notice it?

For their benefit, because they are a bit slow on the uptake, that's a Wikipedia Administrator saying gay pride is absurd.

Maybe that's not what he meant, maybe he's just thick and doesn't give enough thought to what he says (the context was clear, he said it in a thread about the straight pride sentence mentioned above). In which case, you would expect Wikipediocracy to highlight this person as an example of the sort of thick twat that finds it pretty easy to attain and retain a position of trust and moral leadership on Wikipedia.

Your expectations will be misplaced. That's not really what they do. Wikipediocracy exists to flatter and enable people like him. Maybe because he's homophobic. Definitely because he's an old white American tech dude, just like them.

Wikipedia needs a clear out. Shame there's no way to do that. The wonders of self governance.
