This is a no Sealion loitering zone.. answer your own questions.
Just saying, having a vendetta against a single Wikipedia administrator is sort of (well)....

I have a vendetta against many WP- and other WMF wiki- administrators. But Bbb23 is particularly bad for a lot of reasons. There are WMF wiki admins that I think are actually worse than Bbb23, but they aren't admins on English Wikipedia, so I don't talk about them often.wexter wrote: ↑Fri Feb 10, 2023 12:04 amThis is a no Sealion loitering zone.. answer your own questions.

Molly is getting "famous". So famous that a picture of her HANDS, with her laptop, was used as a stock photo in a Fox News item warning your mother not to install that spyware.

Re: Molly White is running a blog bitching about NFTs and crypto
Apparently this is a GorillaWarfare general so will post this here
Various people, mostly 130.156.160.91 (new jersey) and 2001:48F8:3004:FC4:48EA:35CE:A536:B342 (north dakota) are questioning Molly's motives for wanting an article deleted which could overlap with her [[incel]] article. An arbcom case against her for wanting to monopolize incel subjects was launched in 2018 from a seperate person. Their pleas for the content to remain has not gone unnoticed, with veterans unsure about how to handle their content complaints.
from 130.156.160.91 on Molly's motive for deletion
Molly seems to have claimed an edit conflict was some sort of attack on her, and as a leadup to an underwhelming claim of victimhood. (Not the first time she's done this)
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?ti ... =858509008
Most of the people wanting the article to stay aren't much better on the topic, seemingly wanting to advertize a messed up forum

. I find it quite immature and petty for a site admin to nominate an article in which she has an editorial interest (in her page she says she created the incel article), all while completely bulldozing through the AfD etiquette and not citing a single example of policy (edit: *policy violation. Also, I forgot to mention more importantly that she did not declare her editorial COI, as creator and major contributor of the incel article, while making this nomination). 130.156.160.91 (talk) 21:19, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
Same New Jersey IP that seemed to author the article. Sometimes it was coming from a New Jersey school.I argued that [Molly's actions on the incel subject has become] a form of COI in my response above, but I think you can also appreciate [Molly's AFD nomination] with the lay term 'pettiness'. 130.156.160.91 (talk) 22:13, 20 May 2023 (UTC)

User:small_jars is asserting Molly doesn't have a COI with incel and User:S0091is saying that is "impossible" for 130.156.160.91 to prove. I dunno man, even a top Wikipedia administrator explicitly identified Molly as an "anti-incel activist" after a 2018 arbcom case against her for monopolizing incel subjects was dropped for being premature. Please do not edit my messages. We had an edit conflict as you left a comment at the same time I was expanding on mine, as I noted in my edit summary ("ec"). I have stated my position on the article and its sources, and given that you now seem to be resorting to bludgeoning and attacking me personally I am going to end this conversation, as it's stopped being productive and threatens to drown out outside opinions on the article's suitability for inclusion as a standalone page. Re: Molly White is running a blog bitching about NFTs and crypto
On her blog, Molly states 'Bitcoin' doesn't have a good argument against being a security. Additionally, she uses a third person 'we' to describe Bitcoin, as if Bitcoin were a group of people instead of commodity, which is a necessary framing to prove something is a security.
https://newsletter.mollywhite.net/p/but ... t/17246243
She does this on her blog where she was urging the public to support the SEC's war on Coinbase for allegedly selling securities.
https://newsletter.mollywhite.net/p/but ... public-and
The Wikipedia crypto critic who came before her, David Gerard, recently stated in a Youtube vid that almost all 'crypto' will be declared 'unregistered penny stocks', more or less.
A high-profile, recent court ruling on XRP (Ripple) this month is setting precedent against the SEC, White, and Gerard's seeming opinion on retail-crypto-as-security. And officially in favor of XRP and thus highly unofficially in favor of Coinbase and Gemini.
The judge in the XRP case determined XRP not a security when sold without disclosure on typical crypto exchanges, and only a security when sold to institutional investors.
https://www.reuters.com/legal/us-judge- ... 023-07-13/
XRP was way more centralized in the way they operate compared to most of the crypto market, and especially compared to Bitcoin, which prompted prior media to speculate this would be a slam dunk case declaring XRP a security. This was supposed to be the court case that would give SEC vs Coinbase and NY state vs Kucoin more teeth.
some mainstream media isn't too happy about this court decision
with Bloomberg ranting about it for about 5 pages

Re: Molly White is running a blog bitching about NFTs and crypto
Meh. I've seen "prominent investors" rave about shitty stocks that collapsed loudly. I've seen REITs that were backed with literal worthless swampland or burned-out Rust Belt ruins. Elizabeth Holmes is gonna get out of prison early for "good behaviour".
The entire "securities industry" is a joke. SEC regulation barely holds back a flood of corruption. Every day Wall Street walks the finest line possible to avoid being called a "scam". Crypto is just another convenient, trendy high-tech coathook for use by con artists and pathological liars to stiff the ordinary folk.
This too shall pass, and many people will be cheated out of their life savings. "Just business".
Appears the hellstorm of 2008 is already forgotten. Washington Mutual, one of the largest banks in America, went bust because it had been selling bad mortgages ("subprime" lol) to people who couldn't make the payments. Something similar is happening AGAIN as post-Covid inflation jacks up the real estate market. The US auto industry, and several other major banks, came within a few days of total collapse in early 2009 and they were only saved by an outrageous costly tax-funded bailout by the Feds.
Read about PPP loan fraud. $200 billion "just disappeared". One asshole bought a Lamborghini--and wrecked it.
https://www.npr.org/2023/06/27/11845554 ... fraudulent

Molly can blog all she wants, there aren't enough of her to make a real difference.

Re: Molly White is running a blog bitching about NFTs and crypto
You may or may not be right, but I don't think it was a bad investment, at least until last year. I've followed Gerard more than White, and he's stated many times it's been hard to make money in crypto. If anyone bought Bitcoin at almost any time he suggested it wasn't worth engaging in, they would be rich now. Since Uniswap and other "Dexs", the market is indeed flooded to the point it's potentially more like a casino, with people being stiffed on countless scams. If Satoshi cashes out it that might even prove Bitcoin a ponzi. But until 2021 it was almost impossible to lose money on Bitcoin, exchange tokens, and a few other coin classes.ericbarbour wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 7:37 pmCrypto is just another convenient, trendy high-tech coathook for use by con artists and pathological liars to stiff the ordinary folk.
SEC chair Gensler was and is still considered by many crypto people to be their guy. Or at least the Bitcoin maximalists do as he basically said he'd stay out of both Bitcoin and Litecoin, which account for about half the total crypto marketcap.ericbarbour wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 7:37 pmThe entire "securities industry" is a joke. And that is assuming the holder was lucky/smart and managed to convert it to "real" currency before the price plummeted again. BTC has had some truly insane ups and downs since 2018. I still say "meh", especially to the wacky assortment of other cryptos. If other exchanges go the way of Coindesk and MtGox a lot of people will be up shit creek.oranges33 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 8:37 pmYou may or may not be right, but I don't think it was a bad investment, at least until last year. On a personal note, I've made tens of thousands on retail trading non-jokey coins, which I'm still paying taxes on.ericbarbour wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 8:47 pmAnd that is assuming the holder was lucky/smart and managed to convert it to "real" currency before the price plummeted again. I just don't see the social justice in anti-crypto as an non-government-job unless warning the public about specific scammy tokens or helpful warning about how to trade or not within a bubble. The Wikipedia anti-crypto bloggers do little of the aforementioned, preferring robotic republishing of news events.
