Mikemikev (Michael Coombs)
Image

2004-2008

In 2004 while studying at University of Sussex, England (using their IP), Michael created the dry distillation article. He moved to live in China in 2007; he created his first Wikipedia account as Mikemikev in September 2007. At the time he was working at North China Electric Power University; oddly, Michael posted his bad experiences at this university on Wikipedia and in February 2008, he posted his real name.

These four years he made few edits and was not disruptive; the dry distillation stub (of three lines) was his only article creation.

2009-2010

In 2009, Michael travelled to London to study at University College London and work at Imperial College; he started editing the race and intelligence Wikipedia article in December 2009 and was editing on an Imperial College IP: 146.179.212.104, as well as an IP tracing to University of Westminster. The latter was discovered after Michael (accidentally?) edited a post he made on the IP, but on his Mikemikev account.

Why did Michael start editing race articles in 2009? Well, that same year he claims he became a white nationalist online: "I started doing alt-right stuff in 2009." He joined the far-right British National Party the same year and claims to have infiltrated an anti-BNP UAF meeting at Imperial College in October 2009 (source). Furthermore, he said after leaving China and moving back to UK, he became "aware of Semitic subversion". In other words, he became an anti-Semite and racist 2009-2010 and this is observed in his Wikipedia edits when he started editing the race and intelligence and human race (classification) articles:

For some time now a group of single purpose editors [Mikemikev] has acted in concert to add material to wikipedia articles overrepresenting the minority point of view that it is a proven scientific fact that the negroid (black) "race" has lower "general inteligence" on average than the caucasoid (white) "race" for genetic reasons connected with "race". Mathsci (talk) 11:43, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Being a supporter of racialist pseudo-science, Michael's controversial edits fixating on trying to prove "blacks" are innately low in IQ - on the race and intelligence article - caused an arbitration in June 2010. In August 2010 Michael was blocked for 3 days for disruptive editing and personal attacks; Arbcom, the same month decided to block him for 1 year. Almost immediately after his block, Michael started socking on several accounts, some with anti-Semitic names, including Juden Raus. His feud was now with Wikipedia user Mathsci who was mostly responsible for detecting and blocking Mikemikev's socks. In September 2010, Mathsci followed Mikemikev onto YouTube and documented racist statements Michael was making; apparently Mikemikev was later suspended from YouTube after Mathsci reported his posts (source). In December 2010, Mikemikev was indefinitely blocked and community-topic banned from editing race articles on Wikipedia. Mathsci continued to find and get Mikemikev's sockpuppets blocked in December 2010.

2011

Mikemikev was frustrated that Mathsci was getting his socks blocked on Wikipedia, so decided to attack him on other websites. In June 2011, Mikemikev created an anti-Semitic thread attacking Mathsci on Stormfront; the thread was a failure since virtually no one responded. A few weeks later, Mikemikev created a defamatory article on Mathsci on Encylopedia Dramatica, as well as added his name on ED's "Wikipedia Jews" article (source). ED sysop JuniusThaddeus deleted the article Mikemikev wrote on Mathsci for being a petty "attack article due to some grudge". Mikemikev was then banned from Encylopedia Dramatica. Later that year, he started socking on the website and trolling JuniusThaddeus by creating names like Jewnius Faggayus. Michael also returned to Wikipedia to troll Mathsci by writing his name in Korean usernames, but his socks were (again) quickly discovered and blocked by Mathsci who noted the IP pattern that Mikemikev was editing from Imperial College London. The second half of the year - Mathsci observed that Mikemikev's anti-Semitism was becoming more and more extreme; Michael would now start to deny the Holocaust and become pro-Nazi. Another target of Mikemikev was Wikipedia editor Maunus.

2012

Mikemikev re-located to Seoul, South Korea; his Wikipedia IPs then shifted from Imperial College London to Seoul. This at first confused Mathsci, but who then realised Michael must have moved to South Korea. According to Michael Coombs CV: "I worked in Korea for 4 years, including checking translations for Samsung with SDL Translation company" (source). In May 2012, someone on the forum The Phora mentioned Mathsci's constant block of Mikemikev's sockpuppets on Wikipedia; Mikemikev was banned from The Phora in October 2012 for racism. Mathsci continued to block more and more of Mikemikev's Wikipedia socks.

2013

At the beginning of January 2013, Michael showed up on a thread that mentioned his name on the forum Wikipedia Review; he then attacked Mathsci (as a "creep") and JuniusThaddeus ("as a "faggot") who had both posted in the same thread. After being blocked on yet more Wikipedia sockpuppets by Mathsci, in April 2013 Mikemikev was made an administrator on the far-right Metapedia. During the second half of 2013 Mikemikev was less active on Wikipedia, and more edited Metapedia's articles on race and intelligence. Michael now made a new enemy, Atlantid, another Metapedia sysop. In November 2013 Atlantid clashed with Mikemikev about race and science. Atlantid inserted what Mikemikev considered 'race denialism' and it turned out Atlantid the same year was a sysop on RationalWiki, that is known to lean strongly politically left. Mikemikev accused Atlantid of being an ANTIFA, while Atlantid denied this and described Mikemikev as a troll, pointing out his sockpuppetry on Wikipedia and forum bans, e.g. The Aphora and Stumble Inn.

After debating and insulting each other, Atlantid and another sysop (NatAll75) blocked Mikemikev for personal attacks. The day after Mikemikev was blocked, he joined the forum Anthroscape to create an attack thread on Atlantid, doxing his real name (Oliver Smith). Atlantid then unblocked Mikemikev's Metapedia account, telling him not to libel him off the wiki. Atlantid then blocks his own account, stating he is leaving Metapedia, presumably not wanting any drama with Mikemikev; NatAll75 confirmed the block. Bizarrely, a week later Atlantid's account is re-opened with a posted message he has schizophrenia on Mikemikev's user-talk page and other comments that are unlike his previous posts. Atlantid has since denied writing any of these, claiming after he left Metapedia someone (probably Mikemikev) gained access to his account and impersonated him. Regardless of what actually happened, Mikemikev's thread on Anthoscape was closed in December 2013 and he later was banned from the forum for sending sexually obscene comments to a female member. Mikemikev was unblocked from Metapedia, but was soon permabanned after a flame war where he got into a quarrel with a guy from the Stumble Inn, that banned him (again) on a sock.

In November-December 2013, the drama between Atlantid and Mikemikev was discovered by Encylopedia Dramatica; JuniusThaddeus created the Mikemikev ED article. At that point in time, Atlantid and JuniusThaddeus were somewhat allies against Mikemikev, and both edited his ED article; Mikemikev was blocked on more ED sockpuppets trying to remove content Atlantid and JuniusThaddeus were adding.

2014-2015

Mikemikev continued his sockpuppet spree, now not only on Wikipedia, but Metapedia, RationalWiki and Encylopedia Dramatica. Atlantid started banning Michael's socks on RationalWiki's race articles, and also replaced Mathesci's role at Wikipedia - finding and reporting Mikemikev's socks (Atlantid himself however was banned from Wikipedia and so was ironically using socks himself, to report Mikemikev's socks, by informing Maunus who was familiar with Mikemikev's behaviour). Frustrated, Michael in August 2014 created an article to smear Atlantid on Encylopedia Dramatica, but like the Mathsci article - it was quickly deleted (at the time ED sysops were defending Atlantid). Both Mikemikev and Atlantid then looked for more websites to continue their feud and insult each other, that spilled onto multiple forums, including The Beer Barrel. Atlantid dug up a deranged internet post where Michael says he supports murdering innocent children and so called Mikemikev a child abuser; Mikemikev in response labeled Atlantid, schizophrenic.

Both Mikemikev and Atlantid have accused each other of impersonation, by using fake names and writing foolish things to embarrass and defame; Mikemikev was blocked impersonating Atlantid as Oliver Atlantid Smith and recreating the ED article on Atlantid; deleted in May 2015. Atlantid is thought to have created the Mikemikev Reddit account (source); both have impersonated each other many times on RationalWiki. Sometime in 2015, Michael, with Eleonóra Dubiczki set up the white supremacist wiki Rightpedia, a more extreme Metapedia. JuniusThaddeus and Atlantid tried to shut down the website after sending complaints to Orain about the anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial on the website, and later Miraheze; the latter was a success. In November 2015, after Rightpedia got hosting by GoDaddy - Atlantid vandalised Rightpedia on lots of accounts - resulting in the website temporarily crashing and Dubiczki disabling open-registration for new users (for email). In response, Dubiczki has labelled JuniusThaddeus and Atlantid as "devils".

In response presumably to the damage done to Rightpedia, Mikemikev attacked JuniusThaddeus by creating an article on him on another website, and in December 2015 re-created the ED article on Atlantid.

2016-2017

In May 2016, JuniusThaddeus and Atlantid had a falling-out and no longer worked with each other against Mikemikev/Rightpedia; JuniusThaddeus then banned Atlantid from Encylopedia Dramatica and re-wrote the ED article on Oliver Smith (that was left up, written by Mikemikev months earlier). ED sysops no longer defended Atlantid and were now hostile to him, especially a sysop named Lulzkiller. The exact reason JuniusThaddeus and Atlantid became enemies (despite originally working with each other against Mikemikev) is unclear; JuniusThaddeus once claimed it is because he became sick of Oliver's attitude on ED, wanting to change the website from satirically documenting internet drama to a 'watchdog' website to report illegalities; Atlantid had also gotten the pornographic adverts removed from ED (that annoyed many sysops) and was trying to force to them to completely change the website. With Mikemikev, JuniusThaddeus and Atlantid all over the internet arguing with each other - the drama was noticed by Kiwi Farms.

Appropriately, Mikemikev, Atlantid and JuniusThaddeus were named on Kiwi Farms the "three stooges".

However, JuniusThaddeus, Mikemikev and Atlantid (temporarily) quit their feud in mid 2017, and Kiwi Farms took down their stuff on the latter, while Atlantid deleted a blog named Mikemikevwatch (source), telling Mikemikev to move on with his life and for them both to take down content where they defame each other. Later, in good faith JuniusThaddeus attempted to delete the ED articles he wrote on both Atlantid and Mikemikev and said he was quitting, but the former was restored by Lulzkiller who has a vendetta against Oliver. The reason is that Oliver discovered his real name (Connor Evans) that Lulzkiller doesn't want to be connected to his ED account because of UK laws he admits he has broken (malicious communications act?); anyway, Mikemikev's ED article (like Atlantid's) was restored against JuniusThaddeus' wishes.

Things were quiet for a short while, but Mikemikev then finds another enemy, this time - a far-right racialist like himself named Emil Kirkegaard to attack. Kirkegaard had banned Michael from his own forum (OpenPsych), and in retaliation Mikemikev impersonated Emil Kirkegaard on a Wikipedia sock in October 2017. Mathsci by this point had come back to editing Wikipedia and discovered the impersonation:

This was an attempted impersonation of User:Deleet. Mathsci (talk) 08:04, 18 October 2017 (UTC)

Emil Kirkegaard edits Wikipedia as Deleet. Another impersonation I noted on Mikemikev sockpuppet investigation is Samuel Smith; this person is a conservative pro-Gamer Gate blogger who Mikemikev left comments on his blog around the same time (within a couple of months) of him misusing his name on Wikipedia. Mikemikev most recently attacked Maunus on Wikipedia and this involved another deranged impersonation with Michael creating a fake account of Maunus on RationalWiki to troll him. An admin on Wikipedia, Doug Weller had first alerted RationalWiki about this and Mikemikev's sockpuppet was banned.

2018

continued...

Michael has since returned to UK from South Korea, although his exact location is unknown. However, at the beginning of March 2018 he exposed his real IP (while socking again) on RationalWiki that locates to Titchfield, England by a ISP search. Before being blocked, he also left threats on his article talk page claiming he would show up on the door step of Atlantid and another RationalWiki sysop; of course never happened. He is apparently mad about his RationalWiki article that documents his anti-Semitism, neo-Nazism etc., as well as all his bans on dozens of wikis and websites.

The same month, Mikemikev was mentioned by the SPLC in their article "Wikipedia wars: inside the fight against far-right editors, vandals and sock puppets" as:

One of the white nationalists who co-founded Rightpedia, a far-right free encyclopedia that split from Metapedia, created more than 140 accounts in the past 10 years.

Mikemikev to date has 143 suspected socks (based on behavioural evidence) and 120 confirmed socks (by technical evidence) on Wikipedia.

In the comments section we also find someone who notes:

Mikemikev the Rightpedia cofounder has confirmed the socks talked about in this article belong to him https://gab.ai/Mikemikev/ and he seems to find the whole situation funny.

Mikemikev posted on his gab "LOL the SPLC mentioned my Wikipedia socks."

Michael has also created defamatory articles on Rightpedia about RationalWiki sysops, but also infighting amongst white supremacists. The far-right website The Right Stuff banned Mikemikev, and so Michael created an article on Rightpedia attacking the founder of The Right Stuff. Therefore Mikemikev mostly uses Rightpedia to bash people he doesn't like by writing hit-piece articles on them. It's rather funny reading that link and seeing how much Mikemikev fellow Nazis even hate him:

mikemikev is a professional troll, and like all professional trolls, he goes against whatever the current narrative is just for kicks

The above Mike material is more-or-less correct, in spite of the source. Just as long as you realize that he's not trying to offer "legitimate critiques".

Since this just happened, I might as well drop it here: someone actually found a use for Mike! By mocking him on ED's forum! No legitimate anything over there!

Dunno--should I post links to threads pissing on Oliver?

Yes.
Still "Globally Banned" on Wikipedia for the high crime of journalism.

I have learned that nothing from a Smith brother can be trusted. It can be full of red herrings and cherry-picked and misrepresented sources.

Common practice in what they write is the presentation of a source with an interpretation, such that if one reads the source carelessly, one thinks the interpretation has been confirmed. For example, the attacks on Emil Kirkegaard as a "child rape apologist" were based on ignoring the context of his comments, many years ago, while a full reading negates that conclusion.

Or recently, Darryl has, through a sock on the Southern Poverty Law Center and as Debunking spiritualism on RationalWiki, claimed that Mikemikev admitted that the Wikipedia socking was him. In fact, all he did was refer to the reference there to "his sock report," which, in fact, has his name on it. Many of the socks listed in that report were not identified as him, and there were also very possible impersonations. That's classic Smith: language is subject to alternate interpretations, and they pick the one they want and assert it as fact. They have done the same with my article on RationalWiki.

Further, notice that Catapult (almost certainly Oliver), while claiming Mikemikev has impersonated Oliver, also admits that Oliver impersonated Mikemikev. Nothing in this affair is truly solid, but some facts do come out over time.

I started researching this in September, 2017, because of impersonation socking that was probably not Oliver, but his brother Darryl. I was documenting this as "Anglo Pyramidologist," but was clear from the beginning that AP was two people (at least, there might be a third brother, ... or that's a red herring, planted to confuse). In this piece, "Catapult" claims that Mikemikev impersonated Emil Kirkegaard. While that is possible, it is also unlikely, and is more likely that this was a Smith brother. known to create names like that, many times, over a long time. By this time, the Smiths were more extensively coordinating or joining in similar actions.

I have not researched Mikemikev, even though the Smiths have claimed I "defended" him. In fact, what I exposed was impersonation and deflection, blaming mikemikev for what was very likely not his activity. RationalWiki has experienced blizzards of impersonation socks, and these actually have worked for the Smiths (and they worked on Wikipedia), because of user naivete.

Oliver recently created http://archive.is/7sbCI, as EvilDead, a Wrongpedia page on Mikemikev where he gives the address of Mike's mother, and another page on the mother where he invites harassment of the mother (because Mikemikev occasionally visits home and accesses the internet from there, which in his fevered brain makes her responsible. Only if she knowingly supports defamation.) Oliver has been complaining bitterly about publication of his own address, which was actually where he was living. Mikemikev did do that. I also had that information up for one day, but took it down and redacted the names of his parents and older brother, leaving only the general location and Darryl; this was part of my investigation to determine AP identity.

The real cause of Smith harassment is not "pseudoscience" (Darryl) or "neo-Nazi" (Oliver), but any interference with their campaign of defamation, which takes on fascist pseudoatheist religious overtones. "L'etat c'est moi" had some truth to it. With them it becomes "Crushing Evil, that's me!"

The common enemy of humanity is Hatred itself, whatever cause it wraps itself with.

Since this is about something recent where I have already written much on my blog, and shows how Oliver Smith interprets data (quite like a schizophrenic, which he previously acknowledged), I'm examining this part of his post in detail.
Catapult wrote:2018

The IP has two edits. The first could be Mikemikev, or it could be any of many others. Since we don't know his location, the geolocation of the ISP doesn't demonstrate this is Michael. I have seen similar location from possible AP socks. AP is known to post "adverse information" about themselves, it's a diversionary tactic that has actually worked. The second edit could be any white nationalist (and, by the way, at one time Oliver was one of those). However, in context, were I researching Mikemikev's location (and I want to know it to distinguish him from the Smiths, since they edit on similar topics), I'd add that to a pile of evidence indicating suspicion. That is how I approached AP, being very careful about reporting conclusions as anything more than suspicion until evidence became overwhelmng.
"Mad about his RationalWiki article is common Smith cant on RationalWiki. So too is impersonation socking, they have done this with me. They take something I have written, create a red-flag user name, and tack a threat into it or use it for vandalism. In that environment, anything very obviously socking should be viewed with skepticism. But RationalWiki is not actually a skeptical site, it is pretend-skeptic, i.e., pseudoskeptical. (That is generally true for RW, but is exaggerated to the point of ironic parody by the Smiths.)
Indeed. The Smiths write someont On RW, and then an incautious author elsewhere repeats it, and then this is taken back to RW as if reliably sourced. That reference was misleading, that's clear.

Mikemikev to date has 143 suspected socks (based on behavioural evidence) and 120 confirmed socks (by technical evidence) on Wikipedia.
I examined this in detail on pages linked below.
In the comments section we also find someone who notes:
Mikemikev the Rightpedia cofounder has confirmed the socks talked about in this article belong to him https://gab.ai/Mikemikev/ and he seems to find the whole situation funny.
Mikemikev posted on his gab "LOL the SPLC mentioned my Wikipedia socks.".
"Someone." Gee, who could that someone be? "Bill Connors." Because of the subject, I'd suspect Oliver. But there are clues that it could be Darryl. In fact, both of them are repeating the same message, Darryl on RW, and Oliver here. The source does not confirm what is claimed. It only confirms that the WP pages have his name on them. He refers to the alleged source, a Wikipedia sysop (which was itself misleading, by the way, Mikemikev is not careful, but, after all, he DGAF.)

I covered this on anglo-pyramidologist/hatewatch (which also mentioned the other known occurrence of "Bill Connors", linked on anglo-pyramidologist/impersonation-book and the mikemikev SPI case is reviewed on anglo-pyramidologist/hatewatch/mikemikev-spi-archive
Gee, birds of a feather flock together. The master of hate articles points the finger. (Well, actually, his brother is more abusive.)

It's worth noting he hasn't yet earned a WP:Child protection block, even though it seems he has done enough to earn it (not read his blog, so unaware of the context beyond his later clarification it was a mere thought experiment). Perhaps the WMF agree with you here? Wouldn't that be something! Then again, it could just be their chronic lack of competency when it comes to protecting children. Not all their fault, as seen recently on AE, both MastCell and Bishonen have likely seen the Guardian quote that would be exhibit A in the block rationale, as well as arguably evey other admin that responded to that report (since to reply to an AE report implies you read every last comment and diff). Perhaps unsurprisingly, they might have missed it because they were too preoccupied with his other alleged interests/beliefs. Still, it isn't really the sort of quote you just miss, not if you want to maintain the trust of the community.
