Wonder how long the 'retirement' will last? Give it a week tops.

WP:RitchIban unfolding. The community's anger is now directed towards ArbCom, not the T&S.

Premeditated Chaos
This could have been a good opportunity to show the WMF that we are mature adults who can handle our own problems; this discussion has demonstrated exactly the opposite.
As a community, we failed here today, and there is no doubt in my mind that the WMF will take this situation into account when making decisions about the future governance of the English Wikipedia.— Premeditated Chaos 07:41, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

Mendaliv
The Committee’s inadequacies and incompetences have been on full display here. This is now the most dysfunctional organ on English Wikipedia, even more so than AN/ANI is, and even more so than RfA ever was. This discussion has exposed a culture of gross negligence in the Committee. — Mendaliv 07:29, 8 August 2019 (UTC)

I would’ve done it as an amendment to the Arbitration Policy, phrased as follows: Effective immediately upon the ratification of this Amendment, all members of the Arbitration Committee are hereby dismissed. All pending cases and case requests shall be held in abeyance until elections are completed. Elections are to be held as soon as practicable upon the ratification of this Amendment, — Mendaliv 07:30, 7 August 2019 (UTC)

This was classic Ritchie.....
Not wishing to gather a sympathy vote, in the past year I have had a long-term relationship end and lost the family home, reducing me from living in a four bedroom house to a two bedroom flat, and contemplated suicide about this time last year.
He originally sent that to ArbCom in his reply to their request for information, and it was part of a two paragraph plea for them to see him as the victim and do something about the bullying he has supposedly been subjected to by Praxidicae, and so return him to a state of feeling enjoyment of and be motivated to edit Wikipedia.

When they apparently didn't feel much sympathy (other than choosing to spare him the embarrassment of telling the nosey community the specifics of the case, such as his attempt at emotional blackmail), well, didn't he just decide to spill his guts to them all anyway? The result? Sympathy. And the rather hilarious sight of this material having to be removed because they can't be sure if the fruit loop really meant for it to be out there for public consumption. Of course he meant it. It's the only part of his email that anyone on Wikipedia is now talking about.

If he had wanted to simply alert the community to the fact he had in fact only had one email exchange with ArbCom, he could have done so, no spilling of guts required. If he meant it as an appeal, he could have left his guts unseen, and indeed not repeated his attacks on his target.

Rather than avail himself of the mandated appeals process, he flounced off the project, briefly returning specifically to post this appeal for sympathy. A cry for help is what it is. Somebody stop me self-harming.

Fuck him. Wikipedia is not therapy. It does not exist to offer you an escape from your fucked up personal life. Your personal circumstances have no relevance to whether or not you are discharging your duties properly.

Now that the Committee (and Community) are aware from his own words that he's a Section 8 (and this was not much of an expansion of what he's previously over-shared), how is he still an Administrator? Do they somehow think the stress and drama of the role improves the mental health of people like this?

To a man, they are dodging this issue. So if he does end it all in the fullness of time, it's on them.

Retirement didn't even last 24 hours coming back to address an editor as a cunt https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?ti ... 9099841180 only for him to get himself blocked. :D Is playing the it is everybody else's fault card. Hopefully this is the beginning of the end for this prick who can dish out the abuse but can't take it. Poor diddums. Been a long time coming, but finally Karma has arrived.

Hah. Just more of the poor me act.

Have people gone insane?, he asks. Yes, they thought you could be trusted to be an Administrator.

Here's why it makes sense to spill your guts on Wikipedia, therefore explaining why he did it......
Such an abysmal decision. Did you not consider reaching out to Ritchie off-Wiki instead? He’s a friend, and he’s been through a shit time recently. A unthinking step has made things 100 times worse for him: please try to apply common sense in sensitive situations in future. - SchroCat (talk) 01:06, 9 August 2019 (UTC)
Shazzam, the fact Ritchie is a Section 8 doesn't become a reason to question why he even is an Administrator, no. It becomes the reason to treat him differently to any other user, shit, to treat him even more leniently, rather than more harshly which is what should happen, BECAUSE HE'S A GODDAMNED ADMINISTRATOR WHO IS SUPPOSED TO KNOW BETTER.

Here he is, 30 hours after he published his email to ArbCom, and 60 hours after he first retired, still not possessing the self-control or insight to not insult his fellow editors or blatantly breach his sanction. And for that they think a 31 hour block is sufficient to prevent further issues!

So people can fuck off if they want to dismiss this as angry venting, that's too long a grace period even for an ordinary editor. No, more likely this is the real Ritchie in action, the Section 8. Or at the very least, since he knows he's too much of an addict for his retirement to stick, he's angling for an indef block to take the choice out of hands. But he's probably too chicken to go all the way, subconsciously, because he realizes how much significance he has placed to his fragile well-being on being a Wikipedia Administrator. But he will have to do something extremely terrible to get what he wants, because the cult doesn't let addicts off that easily.

Took great delight in settling many scores from previous years, a big 'Fuck you' to this tosser. Not usually one for pissing on someone when they are down, but made an exception for Ritchie333.

Oh God perish the thought, dealing with it online was bad enough, imagine waking up next to it every morning. No just someone who was on the receiving of some of the wanker's abuse and his relishing in him blowing himself up. The stupidity of all his idiotic mates rushing to his defence is laughable.
