NewYorkBrad is now the recipient of the shiny turd known as a Wikipedia biography.

It was, of course, immediately put up for AfD.

He says he has no opinion on whether he is notable or not, and that is about all you need to know about Brad. This so called elder statesman of Wikipedia is unable to say whether or not the policies governing who does and does not get a Wikipedia page, lead to a clear and obvious result in his case.
He is silent on the fact this is unfortunately how it is for most victims of Wikipedia. There are very few people in this world who pass the bar of notability by a country mile, and 99.999999% don't even stand a chance of it even being so close it needs an AfD debate.
But every year, thousands upon thousand of unfortunate people have to undergo the spectacle of utter dipshits arguing over their individual cases, as if their deliberations are remotely sensible, predictable or even repeatable. The wording of the governing rules is left deliberately vague, because they themselves don't really have the first fucking clue what Wikipedia is meant to be.
This is the real Wikipedia. The utter cowardice of its most inside of insiders to even admit what a complete shitshow it all is, absolutely unworthy of being described as an encyclopedia. Even when the time comes that they themselves become the prime example.
I'll tell you what you won't see Brad admitting. He is now billed on Wikipedia as "an American lawyer and Wikipedian". Despite entering his fourth decade as a lawyer, and despite Wikipedia having existed for 16 years, nobody in the legal profession has ever given enough of a shit about this guy to want to immortalise him with a Wikipedia page.
The person who chose to create this biography is a die-hard kool-aid drinking Wikipedian with a history of creating biographies for Wikipedians and a pretty piss poor record of policy knowledge/compliance, certainly below average wrt his time served and edit count. Still, who would know better about how long well meaning incompetents are tolerated on Wikipedia than the mighty ArbCom?
This person is clearly someone who would never have even heard of Brad, were he not also a Wikipedian. They have created a biography which presents Brad as being almost as famous for being a Wikipedian as he is for being a lawyer.
I put it to the court that a proper lawyer would call this what it is. I put it to the court that Wikipedia's most respected scholar of internal wiki-things, would also be able to call this what it is. They would most certainly not be silent.
This is a clear cut case of conflict of interest. For this to even begin to appear to be proper, the article should have come into being at the instigation of someone entirely outside of the Wikipedia bubble. As an accepted draft from a complete nOOb if need be, as long as they can account for how they came to know of Brad.
If there is one person on Wikipedia who should be clear and unequivocal about their desire for the decision to write a biography about them to be made by someone who has had no prior first hand or hearsay knowledge of their deeds and reputation, by someone who has only never heard about them by reading about them in secondary sources, it is Mr Matetsksy. There is frankly no way in hell there is a single Wikipedian, certainly no established long term one, who can make that decision objectively, and I include in that, those who would say he absolutely isn't notable.
As for what happens, if and when that happens, then obviously he should not be silent on what he thinks the sources demonstrate as far as notability is concerned. Nor should be be silent in how the AfD is to be conducted, if indeed he says he thinks he doesn't clear the bar. He should be absolutely clear about what he expects to see - clear cut policy based arguments, with a close by someone who does a proper summation and is clear about how they attributed weight to each argument. Anything else, and frankly the idea he has served this long, sitting in judgement over whether or not other people have conducted themselves properly according to Wikipedia's published rules, is laughable.
As for what happens when the Wikipedians ignore his advice and take no account of his personal view, well, maybe he'll have finally eaten his own dog food, as he put it. Since the real test for him was never going to be, can you hack being immortalised with a BLP. The real test would be, can you hack sitting back and watching while utter lunatics say ridiculous things that you know are ridiculous but are powerless to do anything about. Arguably he cannot, which explains his particular career path quite well. It is a shame for the world that he has singularly failed to bring any semblance of a professional court setting, to Wikipedia. Except the verbosity and latin, of course.
As is normal, Brad is over at Wikipediocracy, being allowed to say what he wants to say, and ignore anything he finds uncomfortable, such as if anyone over there chose to point out how strange it is that a professional lawyer and respected Wikipedian has no opinion on these pretty fucking easy to answer questions. They're doing nothing except kissing his ring and generally offering tea and sympathy, as they have some kind of weird parallel AfD debate.
Fortunately for Brad, he will at least be spared the third degree from Jytdog or Doc James over whether he paid for this biography to be written. Even though that is the most likely explanation for why he would be swiftly added to Template:Wikipedia and Category:Wikipedia people, which both give great exposure to readers and Google, but not "List of Wikipedia people", which does neither. A bit awkward given the person adding him to the template was the Administrator recently defrocked for paid editing, but I guess that's unavoidable, since Wikipedia has very few editors whose hands are clean in all respects. A very small pool.

Brad blanked my Arb case when they thought i kicked the can. They should have deleted it. they want to use my personal info for gain. Brad is only notable to his gamer gate worshipping fans. Molly and Em hate him behdind the scenes.
