So.....how is your "mood"?

My "mood"?

okay......every day is a new set of threats from wildfires. This year Cal Fire has been much better about dealing with them, which might (maybe?) have something to do with the billions of dollars of lawsuits filed against the state resulting from this and this. Plus several other ruinous fires since 2015.

For reference, my town was almost wiped out by this two years ago. The hills west of Lakeport are still a vast ugly carpet of burned trees.

And PG&E is now "continually threatening" to shut the power off to vast regions of Nor Cal, thanks to the lawsuit induced bankruptcy THEY just emerged from. PG&E has earned their tag as the "most evil" electric utility in the world. Their poorly-maintained transmission lines unquestionably started the Camp Fire and last year's Kincade Fire, and several others. Despite being officially labeled by judges as a "criminal enterprise", they continue to enjoy charging some of the highest kWh rates in the developed world AND have the least reliable service. Plus don't forget years of deep sucking love of the California Public Utilities Commission, which since 2002 was packed with former PG&E, SCE and SDG&E employees. Last year Gov. Newsom finally purged the remainder of the utility-company shills.

A few months ago I built my own off-grid home solar power system. Unfortunately the deep-cycle lead batteries I bought for it have been barely adequate for nighttime minimal house power. Bought eight of them for the 48v system, they were rated "105 AH", which turned out to be some kind of weird battery-industry "humor". In fact, they are good for a pathetic 35-40 AH. So I will soon be forced to spend $3k+ for lithium batteries. Oh and just btw, here's a little surprise, the 4kW inverter that we successfully used for a few months? It suddenly died during the first major heat wave in mid June, so I had to return it. Bastard thing overheated and the built-in fans did not run for unknown reasons. Sent back for warranty replacement/repair. So, no inverter right now. If the utility goes off now, so do i.

This summer is extra miserable. Dirty air from nearby fires plus high temperatures plus high humidity. I could not get the usual exercise for 3 months because the gym was shut down thanks to Covid. My joints ache.

So guess how I feel.

This would make a lot of my problems go away. Anyone loan me $5000?

Will more lithium really allow you to store up "good moods" ?

Vigilant posted California fire maps. Having never looked at a California fire map, I was pretty amazed. So, the Electric Company cuts power from time to time so fallen grid power-lines don't start forest fires, with individuals priced out of the (solar-farm based) market for energy storage? Is that it?

Where did Vigilant post the maps? They are prob. already outdated.

This season is now the worst in recorded history. And there's still 2 more months to go....today large chunks of Oregon are on fire and the "authorities" are screaming that Portland might burn.

Don't start me again on PG & E. Fuckers. That is why I'm spending $10k plus on a solar installation. That or sit in the fucking dark. Possibly for weeks.

If you want to build your own home solar I can tell you just what to do to save as much money as possible.
