Waiting for Joe Rogan
I have never followed or listened to Joe Rogan but the scream-feast has begun and the knives are out.
From what I can tell he has nuanced set of opinions across the political spectrum. The fact he is "one of us" instead of being "one of them" may have bought him some time and the Wikipedians seem hesitant to give him "the treatment."
From what I can gleam he is being acknowledged as major profit center for Spotify. Opinion is way cheaper than real news and primary source reporting. Of course, and in terms of Wikipedia, Having useful-idiots at your disposal is the cheapest way to produce entertainment.

Rogan is very popular with millennials, since he emits a slight whiff of "socially liberal libertarianism" that younger people can detect. Supposedly.
Oh look, he has a couple of fans defending him.

Re: Waiting for Joe Rogan
Rogan is still being given a pass by Wikipedia.
BTW I revisited a "liber-tard" Passport Scammer who has a glowing Wikipedia page who spreads "covid misinformation."
The guy sells various scams to libertarians and would be "sovereign citizens." The liber-tards are an extremely gullible group of ninnies.
Jeff Berwick (JB): To put it bluntly, there is no “pandemic”. ,... for nearly two decades and this has been long planned for as a type of false flag event in order to bring in a dozen or more globalist agendas.

All animals on Wikipedia are equal; with some being more equal than others!

Re: Waiting for Joe Rogan
The slippery slope of Wikipedia
1) "Who gets to decide" what's considered "misinformation." Jon Stewart
2) A large percentage of Wikipedia entries are entirely wrong to fact, they are wrong to presentation (too verbose), they are wrong to neutrality, and they are wrong to long-term relevance.
How can an organization committed to the promulgation of factual inaccuracy be allowed to be the gatekeeper of information. The point of an Encyclopedia is to provide a concise baseline (minimum amount) of factual information in an understandable overview.

Re: Waiting for Joe Rogan
And now Jeff Berwick has found his way to HBO "the anarchists" a six episode click-bait story about Jeff's anarchist movement (and related tragedies) based on six years of filming. HBO is hoping that they will get some revenue from Jeff.wexter wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 1:57 amRogan is still being given a pass by Wikipedia.

in the first scene burning books cut to Jeff Berwick; later he is a sex tourist slagging any woman that moves...
With no mention of his newfound infamy to be found on Wikipedia

'The Anarchists' charts the predictable implosion around 'Anarchapulco' and its founders

And so far crickets;

But he is back on youtube (with no following of any sort)

I am sort of surprised the Wiki-Idiots are not all over Jeff one way or another by now!..
The media, and Wikipedia, must make the irrelevant bigger than it is..
Perhaps Bitcoin has not been rocking love of "free money" with the liber-tards lately
Unfolding over six years, The Anarchists, a six-part documentary series, chronicles a strange and deadly series of events. What begins as an impulsive one-off gathering turns into an ever-growing annual event attracting sponsorship from crypto-currency companies and featuring speakers such as Ron Paul and BitCoin investor Roger Ver. And when rule-avoidant freedom activists come together in one of the most dangerous cities in the world, utopian ideology collides with the unpredictability of human nature. Relationships are fractured, rivalries are forged and, ultimately, lives are lost.
With intimate access to the main players, The Anarchists features candid, first-hand accounts from Berwick, the reluctant figurehead of the movement; anarchy activists Lisa and Nathan Freeman who left the United States with their children to find a freer life in Mexico; and John Galton and Lily Forester, American fugitives on the run from drug charges, among others.

Re: Waiting for Joe Rogan
Please remember that MONEY is the one thing over-arching all of Rogan's history as a "podcaster".
He is now the most popular podcaster in history. $200 million buys a lot of podcasting. And I bet none of that was in crypto form.

Funny how bad ideas find traction these days
Berwick and other liber-tards were energized by Bitcoin
I am sure Rogan will follow the trajectory of Vice.

When you fund a bad idea you need an exit strategy - most bad ideas might have a valuation but no exit (see spac)

Re: Waiting for Joe Rogan
Whatever those bastards are, THEY ARE NOT "ANARCHISTS"
More like old-fashioned grifters.
It's also funny that Berwick's article only gives a brief mention to "Galt's Gulch". Type that name into WP's searchbox and you get the Atlas Shrugged article, still one of the Sacrosanct Articles no one is allowed to add mockery to and the origin of the name.
The "Gulch" still has a live website and many thousands of followers, but the real-world community they tried to set up in Chile in 2013-14 was a massive money sink. You have to read the RationalWiki article, ha ha ha.
Libertarians bah. Again and again.Galt's Gulch, Chile was a libertarian paradise and completely obvious catastrophe[2] conceived by John Cobin, Germán Eyzaguirre, Jeff Berwick,Wikipedia and Ken Johnson.[3] GGC claimed to feature 11,000 acres of land located in picturesque valleys full of fresh air in a low-tax country, where Randians who believed in capitalism, limited government, and self-reliance would be able to form a sustainable community that expressed their ideals. (Spoiler: It went to shit.)
