The Wikipedia fanboys continues to brigade anti-Wikipedia Lemmy posts.
a) still think you are a masochist

b) Lemmy's primary founder "Dessalines" has a global WMF account--with no edits. (That we can see. Socks are likely.) Since it's a "federated" community similar to Mastodon, chances are good that Lemmy's principal characters are similarly progressive, angry members of social and ethnic minorities, X-shitter refugees, and the like. The sort of people who would turn a forum-thing into a sneaky censor-happy intolerant private treehouse. Again "free speech for ME but not for YOU".

c) want something to do, figure out who ELSE helped to set up Lemmy in 2019-20. Chances are pretty good you will find at least one or two Wikipedians on the list.

d) Lemmy is NOT a very successful social site. "66,000 monthly active users as of 27 July 2023". About 1/500th the number of users on Bluesky ("35.3 million total registered users (as of 26 April 2025)") and a fraction the size of the Mastodon federation. Why don't you poke around in Bluesky instead? Because it allows users to block anyone they don't like from ALL their followers, WP nerds would OF COURSE love that sort of "feature". I created an account on it last year and have been blocked by a dozen people for weird or no reasons. No to mention the outright trolls who create block lists and add people to them for "fun"--then themselves are tossed off the network. Social media is a horrible invention on average.

Someone just took the censorship campaign further by obtaining supermod access to Wikipedian ystävät @sopuli.xyz through surreptious means, where the only mod was Johana Janhonen, a Wikipedia editor and critic for a while who I'm friends with, and proceeded to delete all anti-Wikipedia materials and ban me from there.

But the good news is Ashley Rindsberg has followed me on X, so I'll ensure those pro-Wikipedia brown-nosers at Lemmy will get shamed on the press. If some of them are juveniles they would need to seriously consider the possibility of having to explain their pro-Wikipedia comments during their job interviews five or ten years from now.
