Quite so. I still think the majority of the 14 million login accounts on en-WP are sockpuppets. And it would be sooo easy and deniable to let federal stooges have access to user accounts via a sock with "developer" rights. MediaWiki developers allegedly can see everything--even user passwords. It's miserable and archaic and insecure software.

Yeah if the NSA were to do anything with the data I suspect it would be to merely download the entire database to their own servers and they could do whatever they want with it but again I doubt there is much value there. But maybe I'm just not thinking creatively enough.
