There will be no restart, Statler. If wikipedia would burn down anytime in the future, only ashes and shit would remain. There are no good parts, the trunk and branches are all infected, only a big part of the leaves are shiny green.
WP will only crash, if the big ticket donors will stop keeping it alive. That will happen only if there is a working alternative, most likely Everypedia.
The model and rules of Everypedia is in line with the Wikimedia Movement 2030 Direction: diversity, inclusivism, "sum of all knowledge", which is of course the ideology of the big ticket donors.
What the WMF is struggling to achieve, is ready and operational at EP, and some of the major donors can quickly move to EP:
Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri can be upgraded to use Everypedia any day: all the useful content necessary for those products is also available there.
On the day that upgrade happens (if it happens), a big chunk of the donations will cease, and wikipedia will be left to die of hunger.
The wmf is much more than wp, though, doing a lot of international advocacy, that might be unrivaled by the likes of EP. That might survive.
