ArbCom elections 2019
Re: ArbCom elections 2019
A vote for Laser Brain is a vote for this prick.....
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?ti ... =925396072
....although the fun thing about this election is he isn't really hiding who he is in his candidate statement.
The real architect of that mess is NewYorkBrad, and his candidate statement and answers of course give absolutely no hint of that lamentable record of extending and exacerbating the Vested Contributor problem.
It is fitting that now he has finally burned all his bridges, there is quite a large group of candidates standing for ArbCom who will always be celebrated as true and upstanding wikicitizens by the followers of the Church of Corbett. What he could not achieve in his wikilife, he may yet achieve through his wikimartyrdom. Peace be upon him.
And thanks to candidates like Cas Liber, as mentioned before, don't bet against a miraculous resurrection.
And for every candidate in that list that you can positively identify as a long time ally and enabler of people like Corbett, there are probably two more who will play their part as their Useful Idiots.
The uptick in candidates being prepared to openly say content comes before behaviour, is noted. That this is antethical to Wikipedia may perhaps go unnoticed by the WMF in their Death Star until it is too late and they really have to start destroying planets.
It certainly isn't hard to understand why there is only one woman standing. They know what time it is. Time to get the hell out of there.

Re: ArbCom elections 2019
I know a lot of people think NYB is a great arb but he's not. He's a two faced hypocrite who thinks the rules on Wikipedia donl jot and should not apply to him. He hasn't done anything at all to improve wikipedia for literally years. He just sits on arbcom and pontificate. He's worthless!

With insight like that, you should write an election guide. Oh wait, you can just copy last year, right? And the year before, and every year until head zero, right?Kumioko wrote:I know a lot of people think NYB is a great arb but he's not. And remember, Laser brain started out as a paid editor, grinding this article like a robot:

Black candidates? probably zero. Hispanic candidates? Probably zero. Candidates from the Asian continent? Zero.
But fat white male spergs? Oh hell yeah.

Let's see how it's going.....voting has closed, and Any Day Now we will see the white smoke of the idiot-vatican.
Any bets that NYB will be reinstalled on the Butthole Patrol?

Re: ArbCom elections 2019
You really sometimes appreciate the advantages of being on your own without internet access when it comes to avoiding having to look at this kind of shite.
And then coming back and reading it all just to lose a few braincells for the laugh. Well that is just Wikipedia I guess.

Re: ArbCom elections 2019
It looks like those who cared enough to vote voted for (or at least didn't vote against) the permanent politburo.
I personally voted against 10 of the 11 elected (Cf. Dale Carnegie, How to Win Friends and Influence People), though 25% of the candidates I voted for made it (1/4). Last year I did better, with 50% of the candidates I voted for being elected (1/2), though only 0% made it to the end of their terms.
The pre-propaganda percentages (cross-posted):
Newyorkbrad: 48%
Worm That Turned: 44%
KrakatoaKatie: 44%
Casliber: 42%
Xeno: 37%
Beeblebrox: 37%
DGG: 36%
SoWhy: 33%
Thryduulf: 31%
Bradv: 30%
David Fuchs: 30%
Maxim: 29%
Barkeep49: 29%
Gadfium: 28%
Llywrch: 26%
Kudpung: 24%
The Rambling Man: 23%
Hawkeye7: 23%
Isarra: 23%
Richwales: 21%
Enterprisey: 19%
Calidum: 12%
Check the math
Weird fact: "Supreme Court" is an anagram for "Computer User"
