As long-time readers of this board and its predecessor know, I am not a fan of (American) Libertarianism; it rips off a European term for Anarchism and muddies the water of definitions, all its solutions to civil problems are market based, in the long run most of it is unworkable. One of the major supporters of this "philosophy", David Koch, died on Friday after years of fighting cancer and the B(L)P was pretty much stormed by a number of people "trying to get the facts straight":

While it is possible he may have had three children (I do not know) neither source 82 nor source 83 seems to include that information. Please consider updating the source. 165.225.38.22 (talk) 23:43, 23 August 2019 (UTC)

Re: Flurry of edits over David Koch's B(L)P now that he is d
Yesterday, two of WP's worst people showed up to add more spluttering about Koch's climate-change denial. As if there wasn't plenty in there already.
And that "Williamsdoritios" creature is teh nutso....nearly all of it on people who died recently.
I suspect that "Tittyjoke" is one of Guy's undeclared sockpuppets, of which he possesses many. Anyone else taking a username like that would probably be blocked for WP:USERNAME violations. Re: Flurry of edits over David Koch's B(L)P now that he is d
Jacobin magazine used their site to run down all of David Koch's environmental/social crimes, and while Charlie got a line, the total reality of the Koch brothers was not laid out - David was the smooth front while Charlie was the manager - when David Koch ran for the highest office in the land in 1980, he ran as the Vice President to Ed Clark, a former liberal Republican (those existed once) who jumped ship when Nixon established wage and price controls in 1971. David would have been the ideas man behind the facade of Clark, and the party platform would have been pushed if they had made it to the Oval Office, so that would have been the end of seatbelt and helmet laws for vehicles, the Environmental Protection Agency, OSHA, federal campaign laws, and taxes, among other things. The failure of that campaign drove home that if the Kochs wanted to influence America, they would have to go the thinktank route and slowly take over the GOP, which they have. This affected everything under the Koch umbrella - Reason is a radically different magazine today then it was the 1970s, when it was more of a Koch Corp. mouthpiece and home to a number of ultra-Right figures and Holocaust deniers that had been involved in Robert LeFevre's "Freedom School" and the short-lived Rampart College that sprang out of it in Colorado Springs, Colorado in the 1960s. All of those people got the boot by 1981 and most moved on to the Institute for Historical Review, a Holocaust-denial group.
Charles Koch lost more than a brother when David died - he was part of the multi-decade sales presentation the Kochs made to politicians and other powerful people because the average American has never been wild about what Libertarianism really wants to do.

That other stuff is trivial. It's taxation that really "triggers" the liberta-nerds. Perhaps every American libertarian should be buried under a grave marker that reads "OMG TAXES THEY TOOK MY PRECIOUS MONEY" or somesuch.

And note: since a lot of people in the Koch orbit make their billions (?) from defense contracting, any taxes (OMG TAXES) collected must OF COURSE be poured into obscenely expensive and defective weapons systems like the F-35 or the two major aircraft carriers currently under construction.
Don't start me on that! The USA currently has ELEVEN aircraft carriers, more than the rest of the world combined; they are archaic giant costly beasts of the long-gone Cold War. Do we really need the John F. Kennedy and the new Enterprise, plus two more in that series still to be named? Oh, OF COURSE, because SECURITY. (And that's something Wikipedia is "good for", since the manchildren love to talk about military hardware...)
Yes, "unseemly" stuff that interfered with the REAL obsession: taxes. One would think that with Trump and McConnell running the country and taxes on the wealthy reduced as much as they have been since the 1920s, the present-day Reason crowd and the Koch Foundation would be "happy". But they never are.
I might add that since Koch's death on August 23rd, his article has grown from about 47k bytes to 50k. Much squabbling and sperg-out robotic editing; not much "actual improvement". This charming shitbird looks like a good candidate for next year's Worst Patroller/Deletionist award. He/it/whatever keeps reverting stuff about climate change, and people hating on Koch in general. (I suspect he might be a paid editor, for what little it matters; have a look at this.)
Assuming that a "Worst Patroller or Deletionist" award actually existed. Perhaps we could have an annual poll to decide that, since the Wiki-Twats can't be bothered?
