The Citation started mid-May. They don't indicate who's doing it. It might have to do with Heilman because sashi said Heilman indicated he was cooking something up.

thecitation.org/2017/05/29/interview-with-new-trustees/ This issue has an interview with Heilman.

....And they haven't done a new issue since the 11th of July: proof.

Even better is the post about the Signpost:

http://thecitation.org/2017/05/11/1/

Whether their problems are technical or personal, it looks like they are not going to publish before the election is over. So, for what it’s worth, I offer this first, and perhaps last issue of The Citation. Cheers.

Ha ha, what a positive statement for the future....

Honestly it doesn't matter what they call it. Unless the WMF starts making this a paid activity, the Signpost/Citation or whatever they want to call it is destined for failure.

In a thriving volunteer movement The Signpost would do fine. The degradation of the volunteer community is really showing.

You're absolutely right. The WMF is having to dump more money into the projects every year just to maintain a minimum amount of activity. The hostility and lack of editors is causing mass burnout on the fewer and fewer active editors that remain and the WMF has no interest in doing anything about it. Even if they did though, with incompetent losers like James Alexander on the staff, they are doomed to failure.

The are doomed. I keep getting stuck with that endowment though. They can be a shitty charity from now until the end of time. What can make them reform? Maybe publicity, but Maher isn't going anywhere. She's not as accomplished or talented as Gardner was; she has nowhere to go.

The Citation published another issue: http://thecitation.org/2017/09/02/in-th ... eyshnoria/.

I found the link in the Lounge at WikiRev (WR3) and it was posted by a member going by "The Citation."

So far we have five---FIVE---Citation posts since it started in May. That I can see. No wonder they don't have a front-page link to their archives....

The sub-item about the Hebrew Wikipedia was most amusing and it's going on the book wiki.

I think they've more than doubled the output of that The Signpost achieved in the same period, but I haven't been tracking that stat.

I liked this entry of The Citation: "iMessage stickers that allow you to send your relatives a 'citation needed' sticker when they send you Fake News."
