New blog post on Wikipedia and Stormfront....

Post by Strelnikov » Tue Oct 06, 2020 7:18 am

.....the neo-N A Z I messageboard and how Wikipedia had a long-running freak-out over it and how a bunch of White Power types from Stormfront operated as Wikipedia editors back the the hot period from 2003 to 2008, and how there were people on the SF board as late as 2012 trying to get neo-N A Z I s to edit en.Wikipedia, even though Metapedia had been running for five years or so and Reddit was shot through with racist/fascist subreddits (forums) by the end of the first term of the Obama administration; all of them were dinky until Trump came along and made things spontaneously combust with his shitlord/Used Car Salesman from Hell charisma, which birthed r/The_Donald (which now exists as thedonald.win, the only free-standing subreddit on Earth.)

After an email with Eric, I'm going to have to write an "addendum" on some of the no-goodniks I didn't mention (Christopher Fitch, Law, Jeffery Latham, LaraLove, etc.) I will stand by my statement that Don Black is " the n a z i who looks like a paint store manager."
Still "Globally Banned" on Wikipedia for the high crime of journalism.

Great start---you really went WAY back into the dark prehistory. The "RFC discussion" on the Stormfront talkpage is so deadly dull and so typical of Wikipedians. They abuse the policies, but when someone shows up to argue the policies apply to something the insiders don't like, they twist the policies into pretzels. You can see Will Beback and Jayjg doing exactly that--incompetent Wikilawyering.

As usual in these political cases, it's impossible to tell who's crazier. Stormfront is full of disgusting characters yet Wikipedia has its own set of freaks. Main difference I can see: the Wikinerds are not making violent threats or openly talking about "race war" and "anti-white racism" and such crap. SF is an openly evil playground for bigots; Wikipedia gets a "free ride" and covers up its abuses instead.

You might also note that Weev and some of his vile friends edited WP. Check the "Hacker Groups" article.

Andrew "weev" Aurenheimer wasn't an open Hitlerite until the Feds jailed him. He was an edgelord, his time in prison sent him into full-on Nazism (and don't forget he was ethnically Jewish.) Don Black's messageboard was very important because of its longevity; there were a bunch of Klan websites and sites listing "Dial-A-Nazi" numbers during the '90s that got wiped by time, but Stormfront chugged along to the point where Metapedia showed up and Reddit began hosting outright Nazi subreddits like r/NAZI and hate boards like r/Chimpire and r/CoonTown and ten zillion other anti-Black boards, most of whom have been deleted over time or all at once during this year's Reddit crackdown.

That time is running out because the number of editors has hit the floor and the true believers inside the WMF have been diluted. The automated aspects of Google act like Wikipedia and RationalWiki are still at their heights, but that's like how WTWW will run Peter J. Peters' insane rant-preaching (Scriptures For America) on 5830 kHz; "Pastor" Peters has been dead since 2011. The money comes in from the dumpy little church LaPorte, Colorado and WTWW transmits Peters' antisemitic, gay-bashing rants taped from 1980 to 2010 over and over again.....never mentioning that Peters has been dead for years. At least "The University Network" started by Dr. Gene Scott (1975) and run by his paranoid YouTube-scanning wife Melissa* will mention that William Eugene Scott** has been dead since 2005 on their Internet streams, TV airtime, and WWCR's second shortwave transmitter on 5935 kHz. Wikipedia/RationalWiki don't have that glitz, they are just online "encyclopedias" -- they can be hit if people are just willing to do the research and write critical books on the subject, make a podcast series, etc. The supposed neutrality of en.Wikipedia is hanging by a thread. If Scientology can be wrecked, so can Wikipedia and RationalWiki.

* She is the reason why no uploads of old VHS tapes of Scott's wilder antics years before he married her and years before her short porn career can survive on YouTube, she has lawyers with 'bots scanning for anything that is "hers." This is the sort of stuff I am talking about: https://blog.wfmu.org/freeform/2006/04/ ... hers_.html

** ....Gene Scott could talk. And talk and talk and talk. Like a speedfreak can talk. And smoke cigars. And stare directly into the camera, refusing to “preach” unless the donations started to roll in. When Scott’s show first came on, it was extremely low budget. Often—very often—Scott’s show would consist of him sitting in a chair on a bare studio floor with a chalkboard behind him, holding a stack of index cards. He would pretend that on each of these cards was written the sum of a very large donation that had just come in over the telephone and he would rattle them off, rapid-fire, and throw the cards over his shoulder as he did so. Scott would have you believe—although it was an obvious lie—that he was getting a thousand dollars, not twenty bucks, not even $100, but a thousand dollars—if not more—from each and every caller!

In a flat monotone, Scott would say “Dallas, TX—$1000. Portland, OR—another $1000. Phoenix, AZ, a donation of $3000—see they aren’t CHEAP in Phoenix like they are in Portland an’ Dallas—Scranton, PA—that’s $4000 from Scranton. Maybe I will preach after all…” and so forth and so on. He would often claim five figure donations several times an hour. To hear him claim even that a $100k donation had just come in hot off the wire was not unusual in the least. What did the IRS make of all this, I wonder?

It was patently obvious that Scott was lying, but even if the threadbare set and the absurd amounts of the supposed donations he was claiming didn’t clue you in immediately, the band who “appeared” (after he’d ask for a “little tinkle on the keyboards”) were from another show entirely, like he had purchased stock footage from another low watt religious broadcaster. Or something. He would pretend they were in the studio with him, even though they obviously weren’t. The phone bank operators that he cut away to, they, too, were from someplace else entirely, but he would pretend they were in another room, just down the hall. It was absurd. He would have no interaction with them, because, of course, no interaction was possible! Scott was crazy enough to think that no one would notice, but everyone did. I’d guess that he had no more than three or four crew members to begin with—when Scott’s show first came on, it was extremely low budget—but his operation seemed to grow pretty quickly. Eventually he hired an actual band, a bigger studio, and real phone operators.

Gene Scott would berate, belittle, bully and bark at this viewers with extreme contempt and tell them that they weren’t deserving of his “teachings.” When he did deign to “preach,” he did a variant on the trick that Glenn Beck uses today to browbeat his lowbrow listeners: Scott would take his blackboard and scrawl something across it that was supposedly written in Greek, or Hebrew or Arabic and then he’d go off on a long-winded diatribe that had nothing to do with that or with anything else. In one memorable program Scott asked his audience if they were any “more tired” this year than they were last year. He couldn’t exactly hear them, but assumed the answer to be “yes” and concocted a ridiculous fantasy about radio waves emanating at the Tropic of Cancer that were making everyone docile, sleepy and compliant.

And then he’d say something like “The government wants to have me killed. Because I know too much. If you want me to LIVE so I can come back here to tell you more about this IMPORTANT INFORMATION tomorrow night that nobody else has, then you need to send me money TONIGHT so I can protect myself!”

heh, I have known quite a few "outside" types who thought Scott was a "cool guy" and some still do today. Punks, Subgeniuses, hardcore nerds and so forth.

I figured out long ago that Scott was just another Christian crap artist. Bringing him up and talking about his crazier schemes doesn't faze his fan following---they LIKED his rants. The weirder the better.

Read the dangeriousminds story -- he got money from his audience on multiple offering periods for doing little to nothing when R. Metzger watched Scott's Easter service. He was a pure-D flim-flam preacherman. His ex-pornostar wife is worse than him because she is controlling every last bit of her dead husband's endless verbal-visual output, so no videos of the FCC Monkey Band for you on YouTube, Vimeo, elsewhere. You can't look at the video of his horses running around (paid for with on-air donations), all his stupid hats, his bawdy story about the Prince's Ball, or any of the other late '70s-early '80s crap because Melissa Scott is a control freak who will show those clips only after doing her pompous, rambling "explanations" about them. In this she is miles ahead of Brother Stair, the insane old coot who runs "The Overcomers Ministry" and buys time on a bunch of shortwave, AM, and FM. Pirate shortwave has mocked R.G. Stair with joke numbers stations ( https://www.hfunderground.com/wiki/Brot ... ir_Numbers ) because Stair likes to rattle off telephone numbers where listeners can leave messages or listen to his sermons. And that was before we had solid proof that R. G. Stair demands sex from teenaged members of his cult!
