Account vanished

I recently created an account with a name linking to some oversightable material that GLed quickly. But I later came back to see that the account was gone, like unregistered globally. How is this possible? I thought accounts couldn’t be deleted? Was that a lie too? (I know that the username was correct since there is still a link to the missing account on metawiki)

I'm mean in terms of community """trust""". Extended Confirmed? Autopatrolled? Rollbacker? Admin?? (I would assume this would be (mostly) not possible on enwiki, more likely a smaller wiki) Secretly infiltrated the WMF offices and are about to start the Wikipedia Revolution of 2023????? (lol)
Not necessarily about user rights just using that as a baseline.
