This is why Buckminster Fuller died gnashing his teeth and screaming like a little bitch in the sewers of Los Angeles with a heroin needle sticking out of his skull.

You literally cannot outcompete a monopoly. Coca Cola was #1 when Buckminster was a child, and it's still #1 today. Despite the fact that numerous superior alternatives came and went.

Every effort the become the better alternative to the establishment 'x' has failed. Often comedically. Communism failed. Socialism failed. Russia, India and China have failed. You cannot out-Wikipedia Wikipedia. Wikipedia can only be put down like the mad dog it is.

There is a major scandal which could be a fatal Weinstein moment for them, which was uncovered by a journalist. Unfortunately because of Wikipedia's past track records of squashing detractors with legal threats she couldn't get it on print.

By the way there are spates of liberal outlets going down under or rather being downsized lately:

Exactly!

Only because of the establishment itself.

Russia, India and China have failed.
How have China and India failed? Russia can be argued easily - falling population, economy, etc. But India and China? They are still in the three largest economies in the world and continue to grow. Not exactly "failing" - at least not yet.

Chinrar - true fertility rate lower than 1.2, population probably already declining, booted out of semiconductor industry, cannot conquer Taiwan, ideologically and politacally tied to the failing Russian state

India - below replacement fertility relative to mortality rate, high iq people in thd cities absolutely infertile, ideologically tied to Russia and dependent on it for economic and military cooperation, extremely high out migration rate for educated people

Everywhere we look we see the russia-china-india global south narrative failing.

A consolation can still be found in the examples of Yahoo, AOL, Friendster, Digg and Myspace. There was a time when they are unbeatable giants that seems as if they are going to last forever. In fact during the late 2000s aside from Wikipedia, other companies such as Facebook, Apple and Twitter were held as sacred or in high regard.

There were not any structures that could have implemented his world game concepts back then, but there are now.

You can't compete with a monopoly from inside of a system, but most certainly it can enter into a competition from outside of the system.

Agreed, they have all failed. One thing that is available at this moment, which never was before, are decentralized structures which can redistribute governance and commerce in such a manner that is vastly more productive and open than it currently is today.

You could always try to figure out where Jimbo lives and scare him to death by singing this:

Some would want it to be destroyed altogether, like Theranos, while some may prefer that competitors arise to end Wikipedia's monopolistic hold on the information market. What do you think the endgame against Wikipedia should be?

One likely scenario I can think of is regulatory scrutiny and possible actions on how it treat its outcasts, give that what it does would be equivalent to "doxxing" and mistaking someone else as the marathon bomber. Trim the community aspect which often give rise to all kinds of toxic synergies and adopt reformative stances in terms of user moderation so that actions instead of individuals get "banned" so that it can still bleed out "good content" from even the most incorrigible people. Less emphasis on drama pages, more on edit filters and machine learning algorithms instead so as to do away those synergies as much as possible.
I want it totally abolished and destroyed, because it's shit. Why can't someone maliciously gain admin status and use it to block all the sysops and destroy the site or something?

Sure, you can (and many have tried before), but they'll just restore the rights. Even if you get a really high up position (like Steward), the WMF will always be the ultimate owners and will revert your damage in time.

If you want to target them more effectively, start with this post: https://wikipediasucks.co/forum/viewtop ... =18&t=2922
