Human Robots get $15/hour or $0/hour

ChatGPT pays human robots $15 (up from $2/hour) to be tools (battery powered tools); Wikipedia volunteers/robots get paid nothing and are (hand) tools (or hand-jobs).

An article NBC news, Parroted by Gizmodo, Copied by Zerohedge eventually to be misquoted as reliable reference via "telephone" in Wikipedia, and then lost in the bowels of Chatgpt..
ChatGPT, the wildly popular AI chatbot, is powered by machine learning systems, but those systems are guided by human workers, many of whom aren’t paid particularly well. A new report from NBC News shows that OpenAI, the startup behind ChatGPT, has been paying droves of U.S. contractors to assist it with the necessary task of data labelling—the process of training ChatGPT’s software to better respond to user requests. The compensation for this pivotal task? $15 per hour.
OpenAI used to ... outsource its work to moderators in Africa, where—due to depressed wages and limited labor laws—it could get away with paying workers as low as $2 per hour
Suggest that Chatgpt become a non-profit, hire Jimbo Wales to work in the Soft Porn/Bomis department, and tell everyone that Chatgpt is the AI bot anyone can edit or influence. Or, Wikipedia hires a bunch of South African Aids patients from Lesotho as a public service for $1 an hour..Hasa Diga Eebowai Party on Dude.

"Artificial intelligence"/Wikipedia may seem like magic—"springing to life and responding to user requests as if by incantation—but, in reality, it’s being helped along by droves of invisible human workers who deserve better for their contribution."
The information/mis-information has to come from somewhere and Wikipedia is ripe for the harvesting... $0 is cheaper than $15.
