Think it would have been better for them to simply release the journal than have police officers snap pics and conservative news cherry pick hundreds of pages to push an agenda. The latter often wasn't legal and either decision would have gotten flak, but what is happening now is the worst way to have it released from the perspective of a responsible law enforcement official. The current leaks are almost entirely agenda driven to fan hatred of trans people.
Regardless now there's gonna be news of this journal until they release the stupid thing. It's already been news event for way longer than it needed to be. There was 16 Google News sanctioned articles about this this week, and dozens of articles from smaller outlets, way after this was an event. The conservative media is clearly hoarding it for political purposes and to broadbrush minorities and inflame hatred against minorities.
