Jimmy Wales REVOLUTIONIZES business!!!!1!

From WPO:

This is got to be the dumbest online "leadership" course since George Bush made one. But, hey, at least he admitted that Wikipedia is a business and not a "foundation".
"Globally banned" since September 5, 2023 for exposing harassment.

Oh I dunno. I rather think Jimmy is quite proud of the fact so many of his disciplines stayed true to Wikipedia's roots....

(reports that this was a talk by Jess Wade about the gender gap that got out of hand, are as yet unconfirmed)

Also, when Jimmy is in the press telling everyone he could have been a millionaire if he hadn't taken the decision not to run ads on Wikipedia, what the actual fuck do you think he means, if not his one successful business venture?
The company initially tried a number of ideas for content.....
....
The advertising director for Bomis noted that 99 percent of queries on the site were for nude women.
.....
As the costs of Wikipedia rose with its popularity, Bomis' revenues declined ..... Since Wikipedia was a drain on Bomis' resources, Wales ..... decided to fund the project as a nonprofit.
....
Wales used about US$100,000 of revenue from Bomis to fund Wikipedia before the decision to shift the encyclopedia to non-profit status.
We can only hope one day, perhaps through this course even, we find out if the Wikipedia editors ever paid back Jimmy his seed money.
