It's AI. Probably something like Suno, Aitubo or OpenAI's Jukebox. Every major AI dabbler has one by now. This is why music people are running around screaming "the sky is falling". And filing lawsuits.

In the old days you actually had to pay people. You had to pay them $79.95.ericbarbour wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2024 11:47 pmThis is why music people are running around screaming "the sky is falling"

Yes, I remember that. Trubee was also recording his own music(?). Thought himself a regular Frank Zappa by all accounts. He later wrote for Spin magazine, and most recently dumped a bunch of old tracks on Soundcloud. Still alive today in Santa Rosa, still playing music on occasion.boredbird wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 12:57 amIn the old days you actually had to pay people. You had to pay them $79.95.

People said that when the first phonograph was invented. They said that when the first tape recorder appeared. They said that about the electric guitar, the synthesizer (Bob Moog used to get death threats from the Musician's Union), computer audio software, you name it. Everything is going to "kill music". Yet there's now more music available today than ever, thanks to the internet (which was another thing that would "kill music").
