Eric, can you put some excerpts from the book wiki about him that Tracing Woodgrains haven't come across yet, in a fashion that's comfortable to you?

Re: Reliable Sources: How Wikipedia Admin David Gerard Launders His Grudges Into the Public Record
This is a really good item. It will make Gerard grind his teeth--then he will start a RationalWiki article attacking the author, probably. (If they don't have one already......let's check....nope, nothing (yet).
It is good to see a description of Gerard fighting with the LessWrong crowd. That subject was not well covered before. Gerard is not out to "merely troll people", he's out to rewrite history.
The author of this already has an essay that is too long, but if there's ever a follow-up, they might also mention:
-Gerard's 20-plus-year career of kissing Jimmy Wales's ass. He seems to love the flavor of Jimbo's Magical Smegma.
-Gerard harassing/banning people on Usenet back in the 1990s
-the ridiculous soap-opera story of Gerard's two wives
-his WP sockpuppets, probably including "Maxim", who is currently a sitting arbitrator. Gerard's current wifey was caught editing WP and Maxim made it all vanish. Which is why I suspect Maxim "belongs to" Gerard.

Re: Reliable Sources: How Wikipedia Admin David Gerard Launders His Grudges Into the Public Record
HackerNews is trying to suppress the article.
https://x.com/tracewoodgrains/status/18 ... 4155261419
https://x.com/tracewoodgrains/status/18 ... 4155261419
kinda disappointing to see that my last few articles have been flagged on HackerNews. back in the day it provided some of the best discussion of them
anyone have insight into why things might be getting flagged? is it just a preference against deep dives into controversies?

And it was deleted several hours later. I can't find ANY trace of it on the Spectator's website at present.Ognistysztorm wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2024 11:17 amIt's been obliquely referenced by The Spectator.
