Quote:
Chaos here, backlash there, shock everywhere. And in Washington and around the globe another gasping chorus of WTF commentary: reckless, not normal, reality show run amok.
And so on, et cetera, et cetera, for the one-hundredth-and-can’t-remember time of the Trump Era.
But there is something different about this week’s spasm of sudden policy lurches, graceless personal insults, oozing scandal news, and ceaseless West Wing knife fights.
It is the starkest example to date of President Donald Trump’s executive style looking untenable not merely from the outside — from the perspective of establishment politicians and media analysts — but from the inside, too.
Administration officials and outsiders with windows into decision-making describe a growing sense of despair within Trump’s ranks, driven by the mounting realization that the president’s brand of politics guided by intuition and improvisation is incompatible with a competently functioning executive branch.
Most alarming, by these lights, is mounting evidence that Trump lacks an attribute possessed by most previous presidents and certainly by all the most successful ones: a capacity for self-critique and self-correction.

Plus, numerous GOP Congresspeople are preparing to leave and not run for re-election this year......the successful 2010 gerrymandering trick is starting to backfire. America's political system looks more like Ukraine or Belarus than ever.

Team Haq't'r

Apparently Mark Ames (or rather Naked Capitalism) wasn't a reliable enough source for ol' Cirt on his PropOrNot page. I think he was a bit bummed about how that entry turned out, though he did manage to keep Ames off of it. ^^

Yeah, the Wiki-Nits seem to hate Ames for reasons that are obscure. No doubt it involves Peter "Smallbones" Ekman's ongoing 20 year hate-campaign against Ames. A "sane" website would NOT give any authority or power to a blithering imbecile like Ekman; but Wikipedia seems to "love" him.
http://exile.ru/articles/detail.php?ART ... =35&PAGE=3
For years Ekman has tried to control the eXile article on Wikipedia. At one time HE was mentioned therein; thanks to his endless brutal editwarring and sucking-up, it was eventually removed. (note the ongoing presence of the user called Dsol -- long suspected of being a former eXile employee.)

And a month later the subreddit gave us this:
https://www.reddit.com/r/AgainstHateSub ... g_illegal/
Users of r/The_Donald talking about killing illegal immigrants, over, and over, and over again. They sound like Klansmen.

It's even funnier when you think about how many of them are sockpuppets. I've heard wild estimates of anywhere between 40% and 99%. Anyone's guess. Like to see how a sockpuppet pulls the trigger on a gun.

Re: The (new, straight-from-scratch) Trump thread
Adam Davidson at The New Yorker is claiming that the Michael Cohen raid is the beginning of the end of the Trump administration: Michael Cohen and the End Stage of the Trump Presidency.
Pretty much the unspoken vibe on Trump commentary is the question "Why won't Trump realize he is in deep over his head and resign now?", they don't seem to get that Trump resigned himself to being president last year; his ego won't let him end this. Trump will have to be dragged out of the White House because he's never been fired from anything.
GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Simple start. Why did you write this book?
JAMES COMEY: I r-- I was never going to write a book. But I decided I had to write this one to try and be useful. That was my goal after I was fired, to be useful. And it occurred to me maybe I can be useful by offering a view to people, especially to young people, of what leadership should look like and how it should be centered on values. And so--
GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: You lay out qualities of an ethical leader. What are they?
JAMES COMEY: First and foremost, it's someone who realizes that lasting values have to be at the center of their leadership. Whether they're in government or in the private sector or leading a university, they have to focus on things like fairness and integrity and, most of all, the truth. That the truth matters.....

Yeah whatever. I've seen so many bloggers and pundits whining "ANY DAY NOW, MAYBE TOMORROW" ever since the election. All for naught. Seriously, I doubt anything will happen to him until the 2020 election, or if a very wealthy super-PAC operator decides he wants The Big Fat T out of power.
Donnie's a great liar precisely because he's too arrogant to admit he might be wrong. To at least some idiots, that is the most important trait of a "great leader". It worked for Sean Hannity!......lol.....
