Highlander (There can be only one, pedia! or wiki!)

Eric's post regarding WT-Social - it speaks to an important point that stands on its own.

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE

"There can be only one" is the belief and motto among the immortals in the original Highlander film, its sequels and spin-offs. It implies that all immortals must fight and kill one another until only one remains standing;" this "one" shall receive The Prize. The only prize these days is personal aggrandizement, stock options, and market momentum.

WT Social is going to be ignored; forget about being less toxic; it will be fodder in a quickening.
Twitter is the only game in the nostalgic town of Willoughby, the town of the anti-social soundbite.

The last remaining immortals - who have scaled to the point that no consumer wants something better or different; its what they know to be true. It is a downward spiral in cognition, similar to the lead water pipes in Rome, or the the decades of IQ draining leaded gasoline that made cars run better.

Google Youtube Wikipedia
Tik-toc
Facebook.com
Microsoft.com
Apple.com
Amazon.com
Netflix.com <- this is a prime example (pun) how would be competitors try to get on the streaming bandwagon and fail; they find out that they have to constantly fund costly new content (at $4 million, per unit) lest they lose revenue (@ $10/unit)
Twitter.com
WhatsApp.com

Of course there is no "permanence" to the above list; these companies will eventually stop at Willoughby, it is very possible that the immortals of today will be AOL-ed, Yahoo-ed, Lotused-123, Land-lined, Web-crawled, Huffin-the-past, Bricked, Fit-booted, or Strip-Mauled.

Willoughby? Maybe it's wishful thinking nestled in a hidden part of a man's mind, or maybe it's the last stop in the vast design of things—or perhaps, for a man like Mr. J Wales, who climbed on a world that went by too fast, it's a place around the bend where he could jump off. Willoughby? Whatever it is, it comes with sunlight and serenity, and is a part of The Twilight Zone.

PS I hope Russia does a U-craine
PSS There is only one (or three) Wikipedia sucks sites on the whole of the internet.
SOS Notice that Wiki is the only tool that JW has in the shed.
Wikipedia - "Barely competent and paranoid. There’s a hell of a combination."
