This article is not perfect, but they make a lot of good points. Mensa mocked their arguments with no real explanation.

Yeah, I always get annoyed when people brag about IQ, "intelligence", etc.

The way I see it, every person has balance of skills/intelligence. Some people may be better at one form of intelligence, while others may be better at other forms of intelligence. Intelligence isn't a constant either. People may have very high intelligence at one point, while having lower intelligence otherwise.

In my opinion, "genius" is just a combination of a particularly high spike of intelligence, dedication, and a person having their intelligence balance very shifted to the type of intelligence needed to preform that task.

Also, the original article they linked to is actually very good.

A lot of the people commenting there sound like fascists.

Every week it seems a post like this goes up. It seems the haters just can't help themselves with this group and I get it to some extent.
This article reads like a community college freshman bursting with ideas but no real thought. It is poorly written.
Sure it can be argued that IQ and IQ tests purpose may be unrealized. But make no mistake, it has meaning.
Maybe you should ask yourself why you care so much if other people think they are smart. How does that affect you?
Or maybe just accept you didn't pass the test and move on with your life...
Written by somebody who doesn't understand intelligence at all.
The top 5% are top 5%. The top in any measure which requires intelligence correlates strongly to the top in any other measure which requires intelligence.
And claiming to be intelligent is not the same as claiming to be a superior person. If you feel inferior, that's your personal issue.
I meant it literally, it's a fact.
Your links aren't even a counter-argument. The person in the first link is intelligent. “I basically never did any homework”. Being a bad student and passing anyway is literally a sign of intelligence.
You've taken intelligence to be a measure of success. That's not what intelligence is, which is why the two correlate so weakly
Here's a reddit post debunking that: https://old.reddit.com/r/socialism/comm ... _apologia/

Back in the 1970s and 80s people I knew kept trying to interest me in MENSA membership. But I had already heard horror stories about the kind of smug narcissist who would join a pointedly eugenic, exclusionary "boy's club". And believe me, MENSA chapters tend to be dominated by nerdy males.

lol, even found the OP

And that's why NOTHING on Reddit can be "trusted" as "actual fact". They probably banned him from r/mensa anyway. "How DARE he troll US" etc.

People keep copying and reposting it too.
