The most "beloved character" on NPR? Suddenly he isn't.

Because he's been a "yuppie hero" since the 1970s, this is causing a massive shitstorm in today's news. Plus there is a good chance we will hear of a few suicides triggered by his fall. Every Prairie Home Companion fan I've ever encountered was obsessive, cultish and weird about that shitty radio show, not to mention a bit stupid. IMO only idiots would find the jokes on the show "funny". You can see some of them in the obsessively-detailed Wikipedia article.

Not stupid enough? How about this?

Despite his retirement last year, Keillor still has millions of lunatic fans. I've been told he can't go anywhere in Minnesota without being mobbed. I've got your fucking Powdermilk Biscuits right here, Mr. Keillor.
So much for Lake Wobegone

Re: So much for Lake Wobegone
Prairie Home Companion is like the Grateful Dead of long-running radio-comedy shows - everybody knows where the skits are going, everybody like the musical guests, both audiences probably toked up before they entered the auditorium. It was a sleeping aide for me to listen to that stupid show, and I have a tolerance for long slow stuff (I've sat through every Andrei Tarkovsky film, and was lucky enough to see Stalker in a movie theater). Finding out that Garrison Keillor is an upshirt man is actually pleasant to me, because it means he wasn't as dull as I thought he was.
Still "Globally Banned" on Wikipedia for the high crime of journalism.

So apparently Keillor accidentally touched a woman's bare back (her back not her butt) because she was apparently wearing a very loose shirt and apologized immediately to her when it happened. I don't have a link to the article but unless of course it turns out he has a history of flashing his junk at women he works with it sounds like he had no predatory intent.
