I read a very disturbing article about corona in America in a Dutch newspaper, Eric.
There was written many people already had no health insurance, but now because of the corona crisis much more people are uninsured because they have lost there job and there income all of a sudden. They simple can pay the insurance anymore.

And the most alarming is, according to the article, this people avoid the hospitals. They simple don't get the care they need so desperately. And there was also written special the group of not white Americans is extreem hard hit.
Because often they have a poor health, obesitas, and no insurance, and they live in small spaces with many people. what higher the risk of infection.
This is going to hit everyone extreem hard in the US of A, even if people don't get ill. Because the impact on the economy must be dramatic at the long run. A waring situation.

In Europe seems the situation more or less under controle, the numbers of infections and hospital admissions are dropping, some European country's even have hardly any infections. But here the social system is different, we all are insured, everything is payed, we all get the same care, no matter if you are a tramp or a professor. We have social benefits for people without a income, there insurance will be paid.

Fanatic. "The Chinese communist regime is entirely responsible for ..." Everything Bad.

The example given: Chinese companies bought up health supplies (masks etc) early-on (January and February) and had them shipped back to China. Where there was an already-raging epidemic.

That was a capitalist action, or if directly governmental, was in the clear self-interest of China. Australians voluntarily sold those masks, probably with substantial profit.

And what is he promoting? The self-interest of Australia. Through governmental control, which is fascist. Not saying it's wrong. But hating others for doing what you do has a name: hypocrisy.

Free-market capitalism has its problems, to be sure, but one thing it does reasonably well is to drive up the price of supplies more rapidly, earlier than would otherwise happen, encouraging more investment in creating them, reducing usage or spreading out the cost of that by others buying them up.

People hate the shortages and hate "price-gouging," but -- if there is no actualy monopoly -- those were caused by lack of foresight, and one of the functions of government would be to anticipate shortages and facilitate stockpiling -- which, of course, will also drive up prices, keeping them lower later by releasing them to the market, buffering variation.

The problem of socialism was naively assuming that bureaucrats would do a better job of market prediction than investors with their own self-interest at stake. Not usually, and so smart socialists move toward hybrid economies. And, in theory, Marxists will understand this as the extended dialectic, thesis, antithesis, synthesis, new thesis.

Populists always want someone to blame, and, when politicians, they do so in their own self-interest. When bloviators, they do so to increase their audience by speaking for popular knee-jerk ignorance.

Populists will also attack free and responsible media, which, to be truly free, should be collectively owned by the public. (Short of that, it is owned by investors, investing in what will be seen by the public as serving them.) But we never take action to create what is needed, instead blaming everyone else for doing it wrong.

It's all very human, and it is all transforming, in fits and starts, a step forward and a step back, slowly, over time, we wake up. How many generations will it take? Will it ever happen? My stand is that it is happening and it will happen, because when people actually step into the realm of responsibility instead of blame, it's incredibly empowering, it feeds those dopamine receptors better than anything else. But the forces resisting this are strong, depending on common habit, encouraged socially.

He is a hater and a populist fueling the hatred of others.

The Chinese government is, before everything else, Chinese, and will act in the perceived interest of China. It inherited "communist" but is actually fascist, having backed up to allow a great deal of personal freedom, as long as the Party and its leaders are not attacked.

not even a week after the last WHO report:

That's a 35% increase in the number of deaths.

HA HA HA THIS CUNTRY IS FULL OF STUPID

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/202 ... reats.html

The Atlantic now seems to specialize in spewing "the sky is falling" stories about Covid. Yet if you dig around in the screeching, you will find some actually useful information

https://www.theatlantic.com/health/arch ... ty/610819/
Estimates of its case-fatality rate (CFR)—the proportion of diagnosed people who die—have ranged from 0.1 to 15 percent. It’s frustrating to not have a firm number, but also unrealistic to expect one. “Folks are talking about CFR as this unchangeable quantity, and that is not how it works,” says Maia Majumder, an epidemiologist at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital.

The CFR’s denominator—total cases—depends on how thoroughly a country tests its population. Its numerator—total deaths—depends on the spread of ages within that population, the prevalence of preexisting illnesses, how far people live from hospitals, and how well staffed or well equipped those hospitals are. These factors vary among countries, states, and cities, and the CFR will, too. (Majumder and her colleagues are now building tools for predicting regional CFRs, so local leaders can determine which regions are most vulnerable.)

The variability of COVID-19 is also perplexing doctors. The disease seems to wreak havoc not only on lungs and airways, but also on hearts, blood vessels, kidneys, guts, and nervous systems. It’s not clear if the virus is directly attacking these organs, if the damage stems from a bodywide overreaction of the immune system, if other organs are suffering from the side effects of treatments, or if they are failing due to prolonged stays on ventilators.
