Side notes:
1: this freak did nearly all those edits on Wikidata--in a very robotic way. Could easily have been a bot. He used to claim his name was Samuel.
2: apart from probably being from Nigeria, Samatics is a real cipher. The vast majority of the edits relate to prominent Nigerians.
3: he was an administrator on pcm-WP, a pidgin spoken in Nigeria. Was an administrator on guw-Wiktionary and guw-Wikiquote, Gun being a language spoken in Nigeria. No doubt he had admin rights on some other WMF projects for Nigerian-area languages. Thanks to the miserable way the WMF runs things, there's no centralized database for adminships or other advanced rightsholders. and no easy way to look them up. (Many non-European language projects, like these, allow adminship for only limited periods and require an occasional renewal vote. That's a good idea and a lot of English Wikipedia's fucked-up problems would go away if they implemented it. But it won't happen.)
4: After digging around a LOT, I cannot tell you why he was WMF banned from all projects. It was well covered up. This discussion from last June was the only thing I could find. What "trouble" was he causing? Probably he was fighting with Jonywikis, another character from Gun-language projects.
BTW, they are now up to 164 "WMF banned accounts". It is truly funny how many of these were administrators. Or at least, big fans of the "glorious movement" who ran afoul of a power-tripper. Banning people like Kumioko and James Salsman is very stupid and reflects badly on the WMF, not on them.

Perhaps he should be invited here to present his side of the story so that the full picture can come out easier.

Could you send an e-mail request with a sock? I don't feel like socking right now.Ognistysztorm wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 11:16 pmPerhaps he should be invited here to present his side of the story so that the full picture can come out easier.

He had nearly 1 million edits, yet has only edited one talk page.

Someone (claims they) sent Samatics an invitation to this forum--no response. Guess they blocked his PMs too.

Re: User with nearly 1 million edits and no blocks has been banned by the Wikimedia Foundation
Hi (redacted),
Thank you for reaching out to the Trust & Safety team.
The Foundation may occasionally review particular instances of abuse brought to its attention, and take actions according to the Foundation policies. One of the office actions the Foundation may take is to place a global ban on a user when certain criteria are met. Global bans are not taken lightly and are placed only in exceptional circumstances and only where the safety or trust of our volunteers or users has been compromised.
For information regarding global bans placed by the Wikimedia Foundation you can review our Global ban policy and our Office actions policy. Under these policies, we are unable to share more specific details in regards to particular bans, including the ban of this user, due to privacy reasons.
If you wish to share concerns or information about a particular user that is, or you feel should be, reviewed for a global ban, you are welcome to get back to me. Otherwise, I hope the above is helpful to you.
