Shortwave: WRMI drops RG Stair cult entirely, WWCR barely using fourth transmitter

The cult of the dead "Brother" Ralph Gordon Stair aka the Overcomers' Ministry has been entirely dropped by Radio Miami International (link here) aka WRMI in favor of Classic Redneck Radio, which is just another ranting preacher ("Billy Redneck"*) despite the name (I thought it was a music show/Hee-Haw knockoff before I heard it.)

This is a sign that things are not going well for R.G. Stair's cultists, because all of the frequencies that they were on are now occupied by Classic Redneck Radio. This might explain why they are on the new version of WTWW as the daytime programming (9930 kHz).

The other "news item" is that World Wide Christian Radio is down to two and a quarter transmitters; Transmitter One has been off-air for a year, Transmitters Two and Three are carrying most of the load, Transmitter Four is down to four hours (!) on two separate frequencies on weekdays. XMTR Four either carries one of two preachers at 7pm Central depending on the day of the week, then an hour of everybody's favorite FBI informant neo-Nazi, Hal Turner, then it switches from 7520 kHz to 5890 kHz for two cult leaders, E.G. Fulcher of TruthHouse Minstries and the dead Tony Alamo** or his probable replacement at the Tony Alamo Ministries. What filled Transmitter Four's schedule last summer? R.G. Stair and Dr. Gene Scott, two dead guys with living successors who also broadcast alongside them. The loss of InfoWars, TruNews, the Overcomer's Ministry have done a number on WWCR.


* I get real Christian Identity vibes off of this guy, plus I think he's on something (speed? meth?)

** Tony Alamo has been dead since 2017 but his very Web 1.0 website treats him and his dead wife like they are alive. R.G. Stair died in 2021.

"Classic Redneck Radio" is almost certainly a right-wing funded disinfo operation. Real rednecks aren't that well-spoken. The video you posted was from ten days after Epstein was arrested. But they did not mention HIM, hell no, instead they felt compelled to take stupid potshots at the Clintons. Not much religious talk here.

Just like most other recent WWCR "product", it is raw political partisanship. Jesus is merely tossed in as an occasional dog whistle.

Classic Redneck Radio is as bizarre as World's Last Chance* on WBCQ. Unless it is an established church or organization with a listed address, you have no real idea who pays for the show and who is involved. The "redneck" thing is pure carny/wrestling kayfabe. He has sounded crazier, go check my archive.org page, I have a recording of the guy from 2023 where he sounds like he is on speed.

It all happened this year and the editor pool at en.Wikipedia are not actually listening to any of the stations I've listed, it's just info to plug into an article. I'm only involved because it's all a giant trainwreck, and these mostly "religious" stations are some of the few American SW stations left.....even "free speech" WBCQ has a frequency entirely devoted to World's Last Chance and Allan Weiner was a supporter of R.G. Stair even after the arrest. The only purely secular English-language stations are the BBC World Service, Radio New Zealand Pacific, and any foreign state broadcaster that does English programming. That's it. You have to hunt for non-religious programming, in English, on shortwave.
