Here's a good one. Wikipedia has very long and detailed articles about backpage.com, Village Voice Media, and a less-detailed article about Phoenix New Times. But there are no articles for the fine gentlemen who founded/ran those major media outlets. Mike Lacey and Jim Larkin. (They are notoriously arrogant and combative, which helps to explain why the US attorney and Kamala Harris are "out to get them" or whatever you want to call it. The Backpage article attempts to paint them as poor little victims of an evil government conspiracy. Yes, they claim Section 230 gives them immunity from any ads posted on Backpage for child prostitution. Since Wikipedia is heavily dependent on Section 230 to protect it from legal action, once can well imagine why the Wiki-Goobers would be "interested" in Backpage's woes.)

There are substantial bios of Lacey and Larkin, but buried deep in the Village Voice Media article. All three of the above-mentioned articles are badly written, especially the Phoenix New Times article.

If you type "Michael Lacey" into WP's search, you get an obscure mathematician. There's a disambiguation page for "Jim Larkin" with five people listed, none of whom is the media tycoon.

Why? Not as if there isn't ample and recent coverage:
https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/lo ... 310430001/
https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/lo ... 494538002/
https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/ba ... 3485e49e16
https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/po ... 446823002/
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nat ... 495701002/
http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/mic ... es-6455780
https://www.crunchbase.com/organization ... ntera-fund
https://frontpageconfidential.com/micha ... amendment/

And consider this:
http://weeklyopinion.com/2018/02/joe-ar ... eep-tally/
Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey are well-known names in America, due to both their news media influence through the Phoenix New Media and their founding of the Frontera Fund. Their popularity also stems from their ongoing battle with Joe Arpaio, former sheriff of Maricopa County, Arizona. Arpaio had been in their crosshairs for some time due to his unlawful and inhumane practices as law enforcement official, and this earned Larkin and Lacey a spot in his sights as well.

But you can't read more about them in Wikipedia.....

Remember Paola Dominguez? Of the BLP that said "She is better known for her delicious big buttocks" for nearly five years? And also for the Spanish cut-down "también es conocida por mil y un otras cosas malas que dan mucha pena" ("....It is also known for a thousand and one other bad things that are very sad....") for a year and a half? Well, Wikipedia decided to delete that article: link. They also deleted the article on the Mexican TV show she was on:

Non-notable local television program that only aired in Ciudad Juárez and received very little coverage from non-local sources. In fact, we have five short articles on such shows:

Asi Somos (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs | views)
ATM! (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs | views)
Cafe Cargado (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs | views)
Kaboom! (TV series) (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs | views)

I can't even tell if some of these shows are still on air.

Only ATM might hold up, as its lone claim to fame is an incident of staged sexual harassment in 2015 that led to Televisa firing the hosts — receiving international coverage. Raymie (t • c) 07:11, 7 January 2017 (UTC)

I have added one additional article to this AfD for a total of 6:

Noticieros 56 (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs | views)

The new article reflects just how much time has passed. Televisa's local programming in Juárez has bounced between XHJUB, XEPM and XHJCI over the years, but it hasn't been on XHJUB since 2007. The news programs on all Televisa Regional stations are usually known as "Las Noticias [location]" (The News) these days, and it'd be a section in the XHJCI article if I were writing about it now. The article-killer was King of Hearts, who has been an admin since 2006 (so he says.) All the 2001-2013 stupidity chronicled in the book wiki is being reversed or deleted over time.
Still "Globally Banned" on Wikipedia for the high crime of journalism.

SOME of it, yes. Probably impossible to undo all of it. The Israel-Palestine editing crap was mostly reversed but numerous questionable things remain. Palestinian Media Watch used to be one of the most useless and shallow articles I'd ever seen. Now it openly mentions PMW has been called a "right-wing propaganda site". Unthinkable 8 years ago.

Former Liberty County (FL) sheriff Nick Finch is not mentioned in Wikipedia at all. Despite being a notable member of the CSPOA and the "Posse Comitatus" movement, which believes that local sheriffs in the US are "all-powerful" defenders of the Constitution. A position most in law enforcement would find absurd, but whatever.

For that matter: There's a good-sized article about Richard Mack, which screeches about his pro-gun positions but tells us very little about the actual person (although this part is both hilarious and intended to humiliate him: "In January 2015 he suffered a heart attack and his wife became ill in late 2014. Mack claims that because he and his wife are self-employed they do not have insurance to pay for their medical bills. As a result, friends of the Macks have started a GoFundMe site on their behalf, asking others to donate money to pay for their medical expenses.[12]")

And why is the CSPOA article such a short bit of crap?

Yet another example of Wikipedia doing shit coverage of the technology that made Wikipedia possible.

There's a short and pathetic article about the AWA Review.
So why is there no article about the AWA?
It "only" predates the existence of the Wikimedia Foundation by "only" about 50 years. Like the WMF it has chapters and
a website and an annual convention and multiple publications. Unlike the WMF, the AWA has a "complex" in Bloomfield, NY,
with a conference center and a museum and a warehouse for their massive collection of historical artifacts.

Oh, yeah right, it's not a video-gaming or military or sports-related or contentious political organization.
Therefore "not notable" to Wiki-Losers.

References, assholes? Whine Whine References, assholes? Suck it.

(Yes, that's right, the AWA is in Bloomfield, a suburb of Rochester NY. What else is from Rochester? James Alexander!)

Ooooohhhh, why am I so CYNICAL?!?! How dare I be so CYNICAL???

Something I stumbled across today, because she was prominently on the front page of Reddit. WP has nothing about model and cosplayer Danielle Boker, who is mostly famous for her red hair and freckles and massive Instagram following (as well as her "hot bod"). I wondered if this was another Denise Milani situation, but can't find any mentions of Boker in noticeboards, AFDs or elsewhere. Milani's editors, paid or not, left a lot of traces behind.

Ms. Boker has 202,000 hits on Google and her own subreddit....
https://www.reddit.com/r/DanielleBoker/

....a listing on IMDB....
https://www.imdb.com/name/nm6308418/

....and an Instagram with 223,000 followers, making her a "major Instagram star".
https://www.instagram.com/danielleboker/

But Wikipedia says she doesn't exist....wonder how many other "Instagram celebrities" Wikipedia ignores. SOME of them have bios but not many. Amazing inconsistency.

This is all they say about the subject:
Instagram models

Look at Jen Selter. Almost 12 million followers, and all she gets is one shitty paragraph.
Look at Anna Faith. Obvious paid editing so she gets more coverage. You can thank the now-banned Bobsanders1991 for it. Hope Anna thanked him....
And ya have to wonder why Kayla Itsenes gets so much coverage. Or Lil Miquela, who doesn't even exist.....

And speaking of people named "Ron"......Wikipedia has a massive tome about Ron Weasley, because after all he's IMPORTANT. As a Harry Potter character.

But there's nothing about Florida political lobbyist Ron Book. By all accounts he is one mean SOB, and corrupt to boot.

Not a single mention that I could find, apart from his daughter the victim

and Ron's "greatest achievement"

There are even blogs attacking him
https://ronandlaurenbook.blogspot.com/2015/10/
https://once-fallen.blogspot.com/2011/0 ... n-and.html

But Wikipedia continues on its blind and stupid way. (Beginning to wonder if they decided to "punish" Book for being such an asshole, by leaving his name a red link. They've done similar stupid things before.)

Wikipedia says absolutely nothing about a 1970s band called Stardrive, featuring keyboard player Robert Mason. (He's slightly famous in the synth world for building his own custom synthesizer.) Stardrive put out two albums on Elektra Records in 1973-74. This is NONE of the "Robert Masons" currently listed in en-WP.

Anyone remember that Melbourne comedian who was raped and murdered a few weeks ago?

Don't bother looking her up on Wikipedia. Because one of their resident screaming pedants said she wasn't "notable enough".

Have some references, fuckers. Even after her death she (or mostly, men who hate her) continues to generate media hellstorms.

Wikipedia loves sports trivia--of a certain kind. It has tens of thousands of useless bios of football players whose careers were short or undistinguished. However, I have found a bit of trivia that makes the feminist Wikians look bad AND makes the sports fans look idiotic. A female racing driver, active in the late 1960s, and thus an extremely rare creature.

The only mention of her is a single listing in one article
