One of the YouTube videos made out of bits of Hubbard's taped lectures when "Anonymous/Chanology" was heavily protesting Scientology during the Bush administration. This is a re-post, I think the original was made in 2006.

Hubbard explaining the Xenu story before it was made part of Scientology doctrine through the "Operating Thetan level III" and the "Wall of Fire" tape. Notice Hubbard's belief that our civilization is copying an alien one. Why this is so is very complicated, involving alien spirits (thetans), mental implants in those spirits, and Xenu the Galactic Overlord.

One of the tapes Hubbard did for each of the "Orgs" (Churches of Scientology) in America in 1978, when he was underground and hiding from the IRS. Each tape has the organ music and the jet landing noise and the bulk of the message is the same, but each town got a different opening story and the name of the town was spliced in. This one was for San Diego.

1988 audiotape of Wallace "Wally" Hanks beating an adolescent or teen named Marco for an infraction. Allegedly took place at the Mace Kingsley Ranch School, a rural and intensive school using Hubbard's "Applied Scholastics" system. Certain non-Scientologist parents took the school for a teen bootcamp/"wayward teen" program and sent their "troubled" children there. There are loads of allegations online that Hanks molested girls on the ranch, but there is nothing solid and Hanks died an old man never having served jail time. Hanks was an OT V or OT VI-level Scientologist at that point, which means he should have been able to use mental powers to convert Marco to a willing student.

I guess people were a lot more credulous in 1978; that is pathetic. Not that it mattered. Any sane person unfamiliar with the CoS would listen to Hubbard's tapes and conclude there was something seriously wrong with his head.....

It's not meant for the general public, it's a staff tape meant to encourage the people on staff to do better; those people were believers. All the promotionals Scientology did in the 1970s were very cheeseball and have this semi-handmade feel, probably to appeal to ex-counterculturists. I think that beats David Miscavige's present style for Scientology advertising, which feels like a megachurch mixed with some kind of obnoxious corporation focused heavily on direct sales.

Hubbard was a rambler even in the tapes that he did for processes like auditing (their version of psychotherapy with the E-meter, their crude skin galvanometer) as can be heard here: https://vimeo.com/48434491. (Side two: https://vimeo.com/143584180.) And that was for training "Class V" auditors in how not to create "failed cases", i.e., people who get caught in cycles because they can't overcome whatever bit of Scientology nonsense they are told to believe in. Miscavige is such a scammer he stopped training auditors so auditing would be more expensive and time consuming (back when Hubbard was running the place, about half the people who reached Clear quit because they didn't feel superhuman). Because of all the defections, there are more auditors outside of Scientology than in it, practicing "independent Scientology."

You're welcome, but we are just scratching the surface. There are reams of things out there, but you have to be willing to go deep.

The Zegel tapes

Jon Zegel was a former Scientologist who got involved with David Mayo's Advanced Ability Center, which was one of the first attempts to create an independent Scientology. In order to establish just why they were doing this, Zegel recorded a series of three tapes beginning in 1983, running through Hubbard's endless hiding, formation of shell companies, and his location in the early 1980s. These tapes shocked former Scientologists, independent Scientologists, and probably Scientology "publics" who heard them surreptitiously.

If you don't want to listen to these through YouTube, there are mp3s at Mark Bunker's Xenu TV website. They have been online there since 2009.

...And then the Church of Scientology crushed the AAC in 1985-86 and in 1987 Zegel made a retraction tape:

Below is a video made by ex-Scientologist Shiona Fox-Ness in 1984 on David Mayo and the Advanced Ability Center in Santa Barbara, California.
