Re: Articles Wikipedia should have--but doesn't.
A few Wiki-Addicts are STILL watching this thread, because omg FOUR COUNT'EM FOUR of the missing articles I posted above have been created:
https://www.wikipediasucks.co/forum/vie ... 3094#p3094
and behold AS IF BY MAGIC this was created in April 2018, two months later, by an obscure account
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilet_a_Brouee
And don't forget this
https://www.wikipediasucks.co/forum/vie ... 3859#p3859
Four months later AS IF BY MAGIC an obscure account creates bios of Lacey and Larkin:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Lacey_(editor)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Larkin_(publisher)
Also created in August, by maniac content-grinder Edwardx
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liane_Engeman
ISN'T THAT MAGICAL
(No action on the others, lol, still nothing about the murdered comedienne or Ron Book....)

Re: Articles Wikipedia should have--but doesn't.
No one can claim that Fuse TV's many obscure programs are not well-represented on Wikipedia.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category: ... work_shows
But there's a very popular show on Fuse that isn't mentioned on Wikipedia at all:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7153382/
https://www.fuse.tv/shows/the-hollywood-puppet-show
(For some reason it is also called the "Hollywood Puppet Shitshow". I'd rather have that.)

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/thunder_road_2018
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7738450/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
You can't read about this indie film on Wikipedia. Nor about its creator, director and star.
It's drawing rave reviews, and today Cummings did an AMA on Reddit.....
https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/ ... es_out_in/
Too obscure? Reviews:
https://www.rollingstone.com/movies/mov ... ew-735263/
https://variety.com/2018/film/reviews/t ... 202725654/
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/revie ... ad-1098510
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/28/arts ... ville.html
https://film.avclub.com/thunder-road-ma ... 1829654009
Type "Jim Cummings" into Wikipedia search and you get a middle-aged voice actor.
Type in "Thunder Road" and you get the 1958 Robert Mitchum film.
One has to abuse Wikipedinerds to get their attention?

Re: Articles Wikipedia should have--but doesn't.
Oh look, mysteriously there's now an article about the Thunder Road film. It was not accessible via the search function before, and did not appear on the disambig page that I could see. Then it suddenly pops up, a few days after I post it here. Created on 12 September and tagged for lacking sources an hour later. Today it has 3 sources listed but the tag remains. The usual petty garbage and mismanagement -- the tagger, Meatsgains, is a small-minded antivandal deletionist shit who likes to tag for speedy deletion. A future candidate for adminship. As usual.

Re: Articles Wikipedia should have--but doesn't.
I realize he's little known outside Japan, but would still like to know why English Wikipedia has nothing about composer and bandleader Kiyohiko Senba and his major project, the Haniwa All-stars. They were very popular in the 1980s and '90s, put out 2 albums, and you will find dozens of videos of their performances on YouTube. (Usually with Japanese titles making the stuff "unfindable" for English speakers.) Progressive-rock people seem to take Senba VERY seriously--he is sometimes compared to Frank Zappa.

One of the very few places you will find Senba mentioned on en-WP is in the T-Square article. Which is remarkably detailed for an article about an obscure-to-westerners Japanese jazz band. Which is another example of classic Wikipedia selfishness: most of it was generated by an IP address in 2009-2010.

But by god Wikipedia has room for this, which the IP address editor also worked on!

If the Wiki-Boogers are so contemptuous of the right and supporters of The Donald, why is there nothing about Pastor Carl Gallups? This is a guy who goes around claiming the Sandy Hook massacre AND the Deepwater Horizon spill were hoaxes, okay?

Shigeru Yamamoto is a near-legend in Disney animation circles. But don't ask Wikipedia.

Re: Articles Wikipedia should have--but doesn't.
The current stench over what the Saudi government claims it didn't do to Jamal Khashoggi (or not) is spreading.
Not that we weren't seeing lots of horror stories already about Muhammad bin Salman's reign.

One thing you will notice: these stories reference the Dhahban Central Prison over and over, as the government's favorite place to imprison/abuse political dissidents. But there is NOTHING on English Wikipedia about the place. The only single mention of the prison is in Waleed Abulkhair.
The prison is readily visible on Google Maps. It's one of the largest prison complexes I've ever seen.
https://www.google.com/maps/place/21%C2 ... 7'50.5%22E
Prob. doesn't help that Saudi "news" sources are claiming it's a "wonderful place". And MSN is repeating the propaganda. If it's so great, why can't I find any "facts" about it online, other than horror stories and bullshit like this?

The nearby village of Dhahban/Dahaban has a little stub article. Evidently written by a guy from Jeddah, and containing no real information. In fact, I might note that all of en-WP's geographical coverage of Saudi Arabia is like this: bland, and short on detail.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dahaban
Our friend from Jeddah does a lot of Saudi-related content. You could ask him what the hell he's doing.

Missing no more;

Sadly the topic is too small for a DYK.
