Stewards, Stewards everywhere.

https://thewikicabal.com/2019/01/31/guide-to-the-2019-wikimedia-stewards-elections/

A bunch of busy people are trying to join the stewardship team. We have one prior steward coming back, some foreigners wanting to be more meta, some en-wiki types, and one complete twit.

8-)

The way things are going, Stewards will not be the salvation of Wikipedia. It will only be when the WMF admits they are sitting on vast sums and that they have been wasting peoples' time for a decade that "the healing" could start....if I cared about the survival of Wikipedia, which I don't.
Still "Globally Banned" on Wikipedia for the high crime of journalism.

This Stewards are just a bunch of useful idiots for WMF. It is total rediciles to create a modern tower of babel what should solve worldwide all kind of problems. Not a surprise that steward thing is the wet dream of every troll.

Please, they're ALL twits. Remember some of the shitbirds who have held that position?

What about Maurizio "Snowolf" Lussetti? Still one of the top sysops of their IRC system. Still a little shit IMO.
Lussetti is unquestionably a domain-name "broker" in Trieste, Italy, a polite way of saying "squatter". According to Domain Tools, he presently owns more than 200 domains. Evidently he tried to buy every variation of domain that contained the word "snowolf", which apparently came from a Chinese maker of paintball guns. It is suspected that his low-level squatting is not a full time job, so he is probably a student or IT professional.
Per private email: "Damn, that guy is nuts. He even tried to grab prada.eu, and had it taken away from him."

Or Larry Pieniazek? Do I really need to post links to his many fuckups?
Have two.

Have people already forgotten that little shit Tomas Bloemink? He was mocked on Wikipediocracy, and Graaf has already had his say. The idiotic squabbling over the MoiraMoira mess led directly to Philippe Beaudette leaving the WMF--to be replaced by Alexander, who was even worse. Still one of the purest examples I've ever seen of their internal corruption and petty argumentation.

No one remembers Mike.lifeguard? Did you know he gave a phony name when Cary Bass nominated him for a steward position? His real name is Mike Trites. A rotten little petty backstabber and liar. Ask Abd or Greg Kohs or Jon Awbrey or Barry Kort about Mike.

Jason "Kylu" Honan was a steward. Ha ha ha. Book wiki:
Jasons's Wikipedia story is extremely messy. He repeatedly posed as a woman, under the names Kylu and Lilewyn and JBarrett and Jessica Barrett. And possibly many others. A full examination is not possible, as other Wikipedia administrators have deleted some of the associated histories.

Jesse Plamondon-Willard and his wife were stewards for many years. Nominated each other. Gold stars for the little asslickers.

Roy Chen is a steward. I think he needs medication and not Wikipedia, but that's "just my opinion, man".

Bsadowski1 is a steward. One of the worst, most abusive and destructive "evil patrollers" in Wikipedia history.

Mentifisto is a steward. He hasn't been active on Wikipedia since 2016. He has done nothing since last year. WHY IS HE NOT BEING DESYSOPPED?

Vituzzu is still a steward. I defy ANYONE to tell me he isn't a little shit.

Graaf has already said volumes about Trijnstel.

Stewardship was once handed out by Cary Bass as a "reward" for being a loyal and unquestioning supporter of the Jimbo Way. Even all these years later, it's still bullshit. A Boy Scout merit badge. Proof that the Wiki-Idiots love you and think you're "trustworthy" for hiding and obfuscating disasters.

Did you know Godking Wales made himself a steward back in 2006? And it was yanked away?

Do stewards have a policy of non-involvement, do they not see the abuses, or do they turn a blind eye? Do people have evidence of how stewards act, one way or another? I have not seen any , but would welcome information regarding the degree to which these people are trying to tackle the serious problems Wikipedia has.

They don't do that much. Essentially they have a non-intervention policy that stops them acting at all on projects with active admins, but can intervene to some extent on tiny projects.

They can abuse there power complete uncontrolled by global locking users. In that way they can overrule local sysop decisions and arbcom decisions like what happend with Paul Benson and me. So they can intervene in a extreem sneaky way, and there are as Eric already mentioned many extreem toxic stewards who apparently operate with the blessing of WMF with there Global Banning policy.
