Facebook posts by the subject as "references", ha ha ha

(This article was created in 2009 by copying the article from the World of Warcraft Wikia. Typical for a "nerd hero".)

Oh, just another autistic fit by Blofeld.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jocotepec

He stubbed it in 2009, then an IP lazily copied raw text from a tourism website. And it's been a pile of crap ever since. All the articles about Lake Chapala and its environs are crap.

Even by Wikipedia standards, this article is biased beyond saving. Yeah, I know, he's a right-wing nationalist politician and a semi-competent businessman and an Australian political lightning-rod. It seems that Australian politics in general attracts lightning (not to mention shit fountains). But is this really necessary?

Oddly enough there is no trace of David Gerard in the edit history. But there is plenty of evidence of MelbourneStar removing attempts to make the article less hostile. At least the Wiki-Fools blocked this account:

All those things WP:NOT lists, and there's one thing they failed to add....it IS a celebrity tattletale monster, and remains so. TMZ but with "a sheen of respectability".

This was posted within minutes of the story running in the media. Mr. Cummings is a HERO to the nerd contingent because of all the voice work he's done on animations, videogames and so forth. This is why his article features an obscenely long list of voice roles he has played.

But his wife, trying to improve her chances of winning a legal squabble connected to their ugly 2011 divorce, tells things to the media (things which really can't be verified), and BAM it's on Wikipedia.

Read the "Transmission" section. Jesus fucking shit.

Yep, that's a hot mess....I looked up IP address 70.91.229.198, who was doing all the gnoming on the transmission section last summer and it geolocates to Detroit. I looked further back and found that the entire article has been screwed with over the last few years, including the deletion vandalism of 66.204.64.1 (they replaced the transmission section with "i like d-i-c-k") on September 25th, 2015.

The transmission section sounds like gearhead fanboyism that clumsily lays out that Tucker had a lot of possibilities for a drivetrain if the car had reached mass production - the 50 cars built are running on helicopter engines and other people's transmissions, not what Preston Tucker wanted for his vehicle. To me, Tucker was sailing on a dream - other people, like Colin Chapman of Lotus, started by selling kit sports cars and then moved to regular production within a decade. Tucker had a full sedan and he wanted it on the road now.

Does David Gerard care one whit about Australian politics? He seems to mostly commentate on stuff that the Internet finds fascinating at the time, like Scientology or Bitcoin, and he drops topics to pick up new ones.

Only when he's out to piss on a conservative politician in the "old country". I wonder if he bailed out of Perth and went to the UK because the locals hated him. Just can't imagine why.

Speaking of right-wing politicians, here's Wikipedia failing/pissing on one. This article has existed since 2005 and is just simply amazingly-lacking in references.

I saw this ten years ago and failed to make a note. it has existed since 2006. Massively expanded by a pathetic Buffy fan called Paxomen, who left Wikipedia in 2011 because they weren't venerating Buffy The Vampire Slayer sufficiently. it was later expanded further by ANOTHER insane Buffy fan.

THIS is a fine example of the decline of American academia. And of Wikipedia at its most "sperged out".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffy_studies

Note the massive list of "academic studies", many of which have their own articles. All created by Paxomen.

If anyone ever tries to pull that "Notability" and "reliable sources" crap on you, here's something to embarrass them.

From a friend:
notice that after Arte Johnson's recent death, a couple of IPs changed the body of the article to say that he is from Chicago (though they left the infobox alone, which claims he is from Benton Harbor MI)

the argument from Wikipedians is that events such as this death draw eyes to the article and therefore improvement. Notice that the 15-year-editor "Phillip Cross" edited the article after it was vandalized and he didn't catch it:
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?ti ... =898757239

looks like a helpful wikipedian has come around and changed the infobox to match the body with the edit summary "per early life". didn't bother to check the history and see that the article was vandalized.
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?ti ... =905167171
or maybe Arte Johnson was born in Chicago, who really knows. the internet sucks for basic info now that google relies on wikipedia so heavily and is now censored.

FWIW the "industry standard" IMDB says he was born in Benton Harbor.
