Wikipedioicrazy

I read somewhere a story of Mexican family's who where picnicking on both side of the American Mexican border to see each other. So they could see each other and pass food and shake hands through the gate. This remains me of it.
Zoloft, look after your roses and enjoy your well deserved pension, but it is really a better idea to keep your money in your pocket and to sink your sad shitty safe place. Or ask WMF to pay for it, they have plenty of money to burn in the fireplace, so why don't they spend some on a safe space as Wikiprdiocrazy? A little safe playground for there Pirate Party gamer kids? Why not?

A few things. Americans have every right to organise there country in the way they want. If wikipedia was a pure American based project with from time to time a European guest I should be the last one to complain. But where did it went wrong? With exporting there copyleft in combination with the CC licence. Not the CC licence an sich, because a CC license can be very useful t create copyright free content in Europe.

And why? Because our legal system makes that impossible, and it brings users and re-users in danger. It can even be a crime at it's worst. And we are speaking about laws, regulations. Guy is of course right, it is rediciles to consider European wiki's as American based projects. No European judge will accept that.
And there it is about, we can't discusses or ignore laws and local regulation. And of course WMF had to invest this first, just like the first had to invest what support was needed. Because to spent a tremendous amount of donor money just to solve a not existing social gender problem in Holland and to give a few Pirate Party kids and some lady's who doesn't belong to the top segment of there female gender pool to say it in a polite way a good time and a income can't be a real goal for a serious foundation in my opinion.

They had indeed better spent there money on woman toilets in Amsterdam, because yes, madam gender is right, that is one of the few gender problems we have here in Holland. Also in theaters by the way, there is always a line up by the lady's toilets. I am glad lady's often use the most times unused gentleman toilets. But I am wondering if we really need the support and donor money of a American foundation to solve this gender problem

Sorry Auggie, I just got to thinking about Graaf and how he was treaded.

Language is funny. "président sortant" is neutral. "outgoing president" is not. Machine translations don't get this. I do wonder though at the remarkable translation of the aforementioned protest page that arrived on 9 March. (§)

As Graaf has said: in Egypt one must not criticize Moses, or the Pharaoh, or anyone else. It is activism and copy-leftist hijinkery to read entries on protests and spit them back out again as processed reads. Shame on me. And those encouraging such behavieur, by posting sub-optimalTM trads from other .wp, well...

This is exacte the reason I only have edited WP-NL and stayed as far as possible from anything in a other language than Dutch till WMF forced me to the English fora, because I wanted to explane what happend and was going on. And I have to say Americans in general are extreem sympathetic people how understand very well it is sometimes very hard to express yourself in foreign language except some fools on WO.

But you are complete right, something sometimes has a complete different meaning in a other language. And not only in language, but sometimes also in culture. For instance about the not understood Zwarte Piet discussion in Holland. Because being black is something like having red hair in Holland, so many, even black people don't understand the problem. The only right advise is indeed stay out of the discussion, and I think it is one of the best examples of a culture difference. Because a white man how's fase is made black is in America synonym for racism. Blackface. One remark, the changes and discussions are manly in the big city's and is hardly or not in Belgium, Suriname or Curacao. There is Zwarte Piet still black just like in many parts of Holland outside the big city's too.

And believe me I real try to give as neatral info as I can about article13. And believe me it is not a item here in Europe, It is all Pirate Party propaganda. There are no big demonstrations, it is not in the news, nobody cares about it.
