Surprised this hasn’t been mentioned here before, but apparently Jimbo has his own "Foundation".

The website is so bare bones that it seems fake, but it is real. Can’t seem to find much beyond that. Of course it has its own Wikipedia page, despite blatantly not meeting notability standards.

Re: The "Jimmy Wales Foundation"
Nice find. There was virtually NO coverage of the setup of this thing in the media. Not even in 2017 when it was officially organized .... with Orit Kopel as the director. Ask me about her sometime. Also there was no real coverage of its failure.
The en-WP article was quietly deleted. But there's still an article on Simple WP:
https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy ... Foundation
Genderdesk wrote about the JWF in 2018--and pointed out that it was a flop. Try using THAT as a "reference".

They went on to start WikiTribune, which also appears to be a flop. I covered it long ago.

This is not directly related, but two weeks ago Andrew Orlowski managed to get another rant run in the Telegraph. Quite unusual, and something you will NEVER see in Wiki-Luvving outlets like the Guardian or Slate.

Re: The "Jimmy Wales Foundation"
there are a couple of threads at wikipediocracy about this if youre interested. he started it with prize money he split with tim berners-lee and claimed he was taking money "from dictators to fight tyranny".
