Audrey Hale school shooter manifesto cover-ups on Wikipedia

Conservative media has been itching for the release of school shooter Audrey Hale's manifesto. As they thought it would contain violent ideation against Christians or 'anti-trans' people, which they could then utilize to gin up their base in anger and read more of their content. Portions of the manifesto were leaked online recently (apparently about 3 pages)

The leak is now the subject of multiple law enforcement inquiries.

The result so far is the manifesto contains screeds about white people and white privilege (Hale was White). Audrey Hale wrote that she was targeting children because they were white and had "white privilege,". She also indicated she was singling out blond, white children in particular.

It also appears to be written very poorly, contradicting the initial implications by authorities and politicians. It reads like drug-fueled ramblings with no argumentation, no campaigning, and no evidence of attempting to sound convincing. The 'detailed planning' parts referred to by a Nashville Council member, if they exist at all, appear to have not been released, meaning the leaker considered and respected the likely wishes of the anti-release campaigners.

The RS reported contents of the leaks were edited out of Wikipedia by User:Endwise on the 7th. Apart from a dubious sentence implying that manifestos always accurately represent a criminals state of mind, the edit that was removed was mostly accurate in how it covered the leaked contents.

The only place I could even find the CBS-verified images was on Steven Crowder's twitter, where Musk's platform also censored it, albeit not entirely, only with a 'unsafe content' warning or somesuch. But there does seem to be a systemic effort to nuke it ur right. notably, news outlets have merrily published the maniestos in full of mass killers who wrote just as bad, if not worse, manifestos. In fact, to date news outlets are some of the only places to find those manifestos in full.

Actually the edit User:Endwise reverted appears to be fully accurate as it came from a personal journal rather than a performative public statement, meaning yes those were her views and will be the only authoritative account of those views. The only way I could see it otherwise would be if she faked entire journals, which would just make her seem worse.

As usual in bullshit like this story, NO ONE "WINS". They delude themselves that Hale's tantrum can be "spun" for political or social gain--some things are too far for that.

Even Reddit stuck its collective manbaby foot in its mouth repeatedly.

OUR SOCIETY MISHANDLES MENTAL ILLNESS. No surprise there. Knowing how greedy and poorly-run American medical services generally are. Hale being trans is the cherry on top of the cake of Wikipedia mishandling this story, leaving a big wide hole for conservatives to twist the story into a knot they find politically expedient; while LGBTQ "activists" try to disappear it completely. No one will get "what they want" from the story or from Hale's scribblings so into the memory hole it all goes.

I guarantee people will fight like maniacs over that article for many years, until it is finally deleted and "salted". The editwarring from its first day of existence, 27 March 2023, is full of revdeletions--a good sign that Wiki-Insiders dislike this item. You can save old revs, but I suspect a few things were already oversighted. As usual, archive.org didn't save the early history. The only capture they do have is from May 2024. Chances are excellent that an insider contacted the Internet Archive and asked them to remove earlier captures.

WP mishandles mental illness too; because it's full of mentally ill people. They protect each other.

I'd like to know who this nut was, and why he was forced off WP. Fighting over Trump content? ScottishFinnishRadish abusing the bits (again)? Yeah, sure. Whatev.

Her entire life was built around people asserting she was congenitally and mentally ill, having been coerced with psych drugs and "talk therapy" since she was 6 years old. Thinking of herself in that way had a large impact on her. Her biological determinist prose is all over her journal. She was obsessed with mental illness and believed her brain was broken from birth and stated death would let her cucoon out of herself into her real self.
