Guido is taking here (as I've seen in his writing elsewhere), a particular position on a matter which is quite controversial, and which gets drastically oversimplified as "mental illness" or "physical illness." And, of course, if you can see symptoms in a brain scan, it must be a physical illness, right?

Not right, not necessarily. It is not clear that ME is a single syndrome, or a number of them

Can't agree more, but this is with most illnesses the matter. But a fact is there is no therapy and Guido feels himself shit and ME has ruined his briljant career. And because of this I complete agree with Guido, give the people a basisinkomen to avoid this discussion. Because stress, money stress is extreem bad for ME patients. And it seems acupuncture helps ME patients very much, and anything what helps it is OK.

There is therapy, but would he accept it? As to money stress, Guido has the funds to invest in a blood and gore movie. Did ME "ruin his career"? That is far from clear. Academic work could have continued, but it looks like he left it for something else. When I was blocked on WMF wikis, I turned to academic work, published in a peer-reviewed journal, and to actual journalism. What did Guido do? Paraduin?

He is the sole bureaucrat and checkuser on Wikisage, so he is, Graaf, responsible for what sysops and others do there, and certainly if he's going to march around taking credit for it. It cuts both ways. He has a handful of edits on the ME encyclopedia, which we might think would be important for him. All about Guido, nothing of value for others.

There is no entity 'ME/CFS', period.

The following diagnoses exist:

* Myalgic Encepahlomyelitis (ME), a specific postviral brain disorder.

* Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), a research diagnosis to select patients with unexplained fatigue and malaise.

CFS explicitly excludes ME.

I have not tried to edit ME into en:wp, since I prefer it without yet another messed-up medical article. My sources are mentioned in my publications. It would be pointless to list them here where nobody can understand their meaning and significance. The above, however, is simply their classification in the ICD10 and the ICD10-CM, and not a personal view at all. Use of the International Classification of Diseases is mandatory in all WHO member states.

You'll just have to accept that I know what I'm talking about, or the WHO, ZonMw, Dutch parliament, journals, magazines, tv, radio, newspapers, physicians, researchers, etc., and of course patients from all over the world, over the course of several decades, wouldn't have accepted me as an expert. I also have a medical certificate on the topic.

I have been attempting to confirm this claim. What someone can do with knowledge is to present cherry-picked evidence that supports a point of view, and these discussions with den Broeder, and a review of his work over the last decade or so has established for me that he cannot be trusted. He will present information that might even be real, but that is imbalanced. Here, he is making an argument from authority, his own authority, supported by a vague and nonspecific general authority, a huge number of people, with no evidence that he is actually accepted. I'm not denying that he has expertise, of a kind. But I am claiming he is untrustworthy, and being untrustworthy in one area reflects on all areas. I'm developing an opinion about CFS and ME that may relate to both, but that is a hypothesis, not a proven fact, it is something that could be tested. It does appear that some in the field are working on similar ideas, and I also suspect that den Broeder would resist this tooth and claw, even if it could provide hope for many.

Pain is inseparable from existence. Buddha, 2600 years ago. Hell, however, we make for ourselves.

The movie data does not mention him. However, I did find a listing that includes him. There are also pages that indicate he did travel to Michigan for the filming of The Russian Bride, pretty nifty for someone so totally disabled that he can't survive, as the Paraduin article claimed. Obviously he's doing better. Perhaps founding a nation is invigorating. Maybe I should try it!

I see atrophy of the extremities, and some sort of physical impairment on an apparently sober person. I am inclined to believe him about his diagnosis at least, and I am surprised that Holland denied him welfare.

Abd wrote:"Boots on the ground" means people actually there.

Nope. (If it did, it had no significance. Lots of people come there when the wheather is nice and the place isn't flooded.)

They actually did plant a flag.

Twice, in fact. And we removed it, thwarting their attempt.

Now, if den Broeder actually intended to exercise sovereignty over that place, he'd have wanted that house to be there. "Had it demolished" implies it was his action, that the Croatian government did this on his request.

Wrong again. It was not the Croatian government. I already have a house in Paraduin. Siga is an ecological zone and doesn't need one.

Regardless of whether or not they can ultimately be successful, it is clear that Liberland is a real project, with many, many people involved.

Actually not that many. The people that donated are not in any way involved. It is a project, but it's not very real. Unlike Paraduin, it doesn't produce anything (except embassees), it has no territory, no constitution, only a president.

The path to Liberland success is fairly obvious to me. Money. The real issue would be the price, what is that piece of land worth to Croatia, and what is it worth to them?

Croatia doesn't claim it, so they can't sell it. Not that they would if they could. Denmark isn't selling Greenland to the US either, enough said. While Liberland has a little money in the bank, there isn't anything they can do with it. They haven't made a single step forward since 2015, they're just partying. In Serbia, not in Siga.

For a moment it looked interesting when a rogue bitcoin leader tried a hostile takeover, but we thwarted that as well.

There is therapy, but would he accept it?

There are several therapies and medical treatments for ME, but they are not available in The Netherlands.

Guido has the funds to invest in a blood and gore movie.

I won a case against the city of Rotterdam. They had to pay me the welfare that they had denied me for several years. They claimed it right back so my investment was done just in time. It's an action thriller, by the way.

When I was blocked on WMF wikis, I turned to academic work, published in a peer-reviewed journal, and to actual journalism.

Lovely. Being blocked gives you time. Having a chronic disease takes it away. On average, I can be active one hour a day. If I do more I need to compensate that on the days before and after.

What did Guido do?

Let's see … some additional examples …

I was a board member and the tournament director of the chess club VOLMAC Rotterdam.
I went to Monte Carlo, wrote and published official tournament books of the chess tournaments that were held there.
I was a teacher at the Law Faculty of the Leiden University.
I was a member of the Economic Committee (and several others) for the GroenLinks political party, and was a candidate for parliament two times.
I was a council member for GroenLinks during 8 years.
I participated in the design of a number of computer games (yes, I was credited for that).
I had several hundred legal procedures.
I wrote science fiction / fantasy stories, was an active participant in conventions and am a life member of the NCSF.

Lomax, since all you can do is produce ridiculous non-sequiturs and insults, like we've come to know you, we're done here.

Thanks. Lay people often say that ME is an invisible illness, but in fact it is very visible when you know what to look for. There is damage to autonomic, cognitive and motoric brain functions, in a pattern that is distinguishable from other diseases with brain function impairment.

Abd, this is Holland. Guido's career path was a highway to a leerstoel, a position as a professor till he got ill. And because of that it is correct to claim ME has ruined his career.

All about Guido, nothing of value for others.

I complete disagree. Guido created a dream wiki for creators, the wikipedians choose to screw the place up, and that is it.

Gentlemen, please. Is there a point to this?

Also, FWIW, Google Maps actually has a marker for "Liberland, Serbia". It looks like a tree farm and no buildings are visible. It is nearest the Croatian town of Zmajevac, which does have a Wikipedia article....to which Liberland was added recently....
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?ti ... =841358648

So? How many of Guido's sock accounts would I find in the history of Liberland? Or does any of this shit even matter?

No. not any. Guido played some paintball game in a funny way with his Paraduin and Prince act and Abd has a complete leak of humor and want to have a serious discussion about it. So no, it is leading nowhere, there is no point in it. Except it was a good catch of Guido that island what belongs to no one.

It's creativity of Guido, it is what we call een speelse geest a a playful mind. Just like you have, because who for the hell got the idea to build all kind of complete crazy sound effects around vacuum tubes? Who for the hell? Or to make such a lay out?

Den Broeder may have boxed himself into perpetual illness. As I mentioned, it is not clear that ME/CFS is a single entity, with a single cause

True. Much is still not clear about ME.

I have been attempting to confirm this claim. What someone can do with knowledge is to present cherry-picked evidence that supports a point of view, and these discussions with den Broeder, and a review of his work over the last decade or so has established for me that he cannot be trusted.

Links and evidences please.

I see atrophy of the extremities, and some sort of physical impairment on an apparently sober person. I am inclined to believe him about his diagnosis at least, and I am surprised that Holland denied him welfare.

That was a political matter. In that time there was a discussion about welfare and social benefits and special the CDA, the Christian party was focused on wie niet werkt zal niet eten. (Brinkman and the formal party CDA ideoloog Pim Fortuin) Who doesn't work shall not eat.

Normal anyone who can't work get welfare in Holland, also if it should be because of a psychological reason. This was just fucking someone, this is indeed very strange.
Anyone else in the situation of Guido had had it, but Guido not. it just sounds fucking corrupt.
