The problem with all these "sources" is that historians back then took drawings of a flat earth by ancient civilizations as literal to the extreme. I don't think that most thinkers believed in a flat earth even back then, because of how ships and caravans look when they travel beyond the horizon. The bottom vanishes, but you can still see the tops.

Additionally, "earth" could have meant land back then. Not that they thought that all of Earth was flat, since the ancients wouldn't have been aware of the entire world's expanse.
