Just saw this come up in google. "Facebook and Google must start supporting Wikipedia or it will die" ! It wants money from them + is telling the public so.
Is it an arrogant business move, or is it actually low on resources + showing troubles by being willing to write picturing its own end?
Its open message to google + FB, talking of its own demise !

Everyone in Europe is screaming about Facebook and YouTube (Google) dumbing down an entire generation. And here comes the executive director of WMF:
"She was one of the founding members of what became known as the innovation team, focusing on the use of technology to improve people's lives. As part of this position, Maher traveled globally and worked on issues related to maternal health, HIV/AIDS prevention, and youth participation in technology." (bolding added)
My theory is that what we're looking at here is a simple IQ problem.

I have the idea it's the same story as with Molly, GorillaWarfare. Here family is a respected family, she is grown up in a protected surrounding. She is not the right person to be the executive director of the Wikimedia Foundation. She is leaking the skills to be.
Wikipedia is a fossil on the internet. It's a internet product of the beginning of this century, based on the ideas of the internet of the century before. The formula was far from unique, because there were many of this kind of products in that time, I have given the example of Startpargina.NL before.
Only Durk Jan de Bruin was much more cleaver than Jimmy was, because he sold his project what he never should sell for about 13,5 million euro, and went to South Africa with his family.
Leave the furies "volunteers" behind with about 400 euro each, who had made there profession out of Startpagina. And that was between 2000 en 2005. So niks nieuws onder zon, nothing new under sun like we say in Holland.
Wikipedia made in all these years not any serious innovation. The world has changed, the internet has changed dramatical, but Maher want to continuo on the same way Wikipedia did for years and years. Because she has not idea what is going on.

From not caring that they have admins who are twelve year old girls often left crying in their bedrooms due to the abuse they receive (and so are editing surely without the knowledge of their parents), to mass recruiting from the very schools these girls attend with WMF funded and supervised events which promise them they can make a difference to the world, there really should be nobody on this planet who is surprised that getting young people hooked is a priority of the WMF.
