Re: WMF worries about "intermediary liability"
Serbia was a wreck after the Yugoslav wars, all of the combatant states are still putting themselves back together in the countryside where all the burned out farms and smashed-up villages are. So the internet is issue number 999 out of 1000.
Still "Globally Banned" on Wikipedia for the high crime of journalism.

Poor plan. Serbia is in the running for a European Union membership from 2009 on, and I am sure they don't want to blow it by hosting Wikipedia.
No, I have a better idea. North Korea
Fits exact in there philosophy, Kim and Donald have a excellent relation, so there is a American touch, no copyright problems, stable regime, easy to find "volunteers", a good climate, and beautiful beaches. It is the perfect candidate!

Canada had a relevant court case recently, did they not? Can't remember what it was now, but I don't think it was good for Teh Wiki.
They also don't really like internet bullying. Drmies would be screwed.

That's true, but some of the servers are in Virginia, where the rules are different and depending on the state, they could still go after the editor making the edit, which could put the WMF in a position to either help the editor and potentially be associated to the case or show the community they won't help them. Either way, they could be in trouble.

Re: WMF worries about "intermediary liability"
Does it matter where the servers are or where the company/organization is located? I suppose it would be legally possible if the WMF just moved it's servers around the world as needed. It would be very expensive, though.

Jimmy thinks Wikipedia could survive even if it were outlawed. He's always been a bit of a fantasist. This is why I was so worried about a Wikipedia on a blockchain, but thankfully Jimmy doesn't seem to appreciate the upsides of that approach.
